34-year-old Ludwig Göransson made Grammy history this past weekend, becoming the first person to win both best score and song of the year with projects that have nothing to do with each other. A longtime collaborator of Donald Glover/Childish Gambino, Göransson co-wrote and produced the explosive track “This is America” and composed the score for Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther, the ninth highest-grossing movie in history and a current Best Picture contender at the Oscars.
Göransson’s Black Panther score is nominated for an Oscar as well, and I jumped on the phone with him this week to talk about crafting the music of Wakanda, his work on the upcoming Disney+ Star Wars TV show The Mandalorian, and much more. Read More »
With presents nestled under the Christmas tree and family members to avoid, what better time to pop in an episode of your favorite show? While holiday-themed episodes are often hit-or-miss, they’ve also churned out some of the best hours and half-hours of television that you can throw on in the background while you wrap your presents.
Christmas-themed TV episodes offer a wonderful alternative to the myriad of saccharine Christmas movies, with stories ranging from profoundly uplifting to hopelessly bleak. A good chaser after watching The Holiday for the umpteenth time.

The final episode of Dan Harmon‘s brilliant sitcom Community aired on Yahoo Screen – an entertainment service that doesn’t exist anymore – back in 2015. The show sort of limped across the finish line as it lost key cast members in the lead-up to its finale, and though the series ended with a whimper, the first few seasons are some of the funniest, cleverest, and straight-up best television of the past decade.
Harmon has been talking about making a Community movie for years (remember when #SixSeasonsAndAMovie was a big deal?), but things have been quiet on that front for a while. In a new interview, the showrunner explains that he’s been meeting with The Russo Brothers (Avengers: Infinity War) and director Justin Lin (Fast Five) about the possibility of actually making the movie.

Take heart, Community fans — Dan Harmon isn’t giving up on the dream of #SixSeasonsAndAMovie. He’s just not sure when he’ll be able to make it come true. For starters, there’s the paradoxical problem of this cast being too popular: everyone in that cast has moved on to new shows and movies, so it’s unclear when they’d have time to make a Community movie even if they wanted to. Still, he says, “it’ll happen.” Get your latest Community movie update below. Read More »
Last year brought the sixth season of Community to Yahoo Screen, the online content generator which saved the show after it was canceled at NBC after barely hanging on each and every previous season. Sadly, it appears that was also the last season of the show as Yahoo Screen decided to call it quits earlier this year. Of course, that just means everything is going according to plan as far as the famous “six seasons and a movie” prophecy is concerned.
But if you’re desperate for some laughs from your favorite community college students, then this snippet of the Community season 6 gag reel should bring you some temporary happiness until Dan Harmon decides to get the Community movie off the ground. Watch it below. Read More »

Yahoo Screen saved Community, but it seems Community couldn’t save Yahoo Screen. Yahoo has confirmed it’s shutting down the streaming video platform, which launched two years ago to house both original and syndicated programming. The content that already exists will be folded into other sections (sorry, “digital magazines”) at Yahoo. More about the end of Yahoo Screen, and what this might mean for Community, after the jump. Cool Posts From Around the Web:
Back in June, we reported that the former NBC comedy series Community could end up getting another season at Yahoo after it was saved from cancellation and turned into a web series. However, it appears that possibility just went out the window.
Series star Joel McHale recently said in an interview that the profile of the cast members has grown significantly since the series premiered six years ago, and Yahoo simply can’t afford to pay the cast what they should be earning anymore. Find out more about why we’re seeing Community canceled again after the jump! Read More »
