We’ve known for some time now who would star in Logan, Hugh Jackman‘s next and last film as Wolverine. We just haven’t heard much about which characters they would be playing (well, aside from Wolverine and Patrick Stewart as Professor X, of course). But thankfully, that’s starting to change. Yesterday we learned Boyd Holbrook would be playing the villain Donald Pierce, and today we’ve got details on two more characters who’ll be prominently featured in the X-Men spinoff. Read More »

Wolverine’s never really been one for making friends, but he sure is good at making enemies. Richard E. Grant has joined Wolverine 3 in a villainous role, joining Boyd Holbrook as another baddie. Hugh Jackman, of course, returns to play Wolverine one final time, while Patrick Stewart reprises his role as Professor X. Read More »
Game of Thrones has picked up the baton from the Harry Potter film series and is continuing an effort to give a role to every major actor in the British Isles. Somehow, the great Richard E. Grant never ended up in a Harry Potter movie, but now he has a role in the sixth season of Game of Thrones. That gig was possibly meant to be a surprise, but now that the info is out there, let’s speculate on what brings Grant to Westeros. Read More »
The great film Withnail and I, which chronicles creativity and drinking in equal measure, is a landmark of British cinema, and one of the best and most biting comedies you can find. After being out of circulation for a few years, there’s a new Withnail and I restoration, which you’ll be able to see via disc release from Arrow in the UK, and in new theatrical and VOD presentations.
Arrow has released a brief trailer for the restoration of writer/director Bruce Robinson‘s crowning achievement that will make old fans dig out whatever copy they have lying around, and will hopefully alert neophytes to the fact that Withnail is very much worth getting to know. Read More »

It’s been fun to see Jude Law drink swear, fuck, and punch his way through earlier trailers for Dom Hemingway. The handsome British actor plays a safecracker who’s just completed a twelve-year stint in prison, and seems determined to make up for lost time by partying his way to an early grave.
But if there’s one thing the movies love more than a bad boy, it’s a bad boy on his way to redemption. So the latest promo downplays his wild antics just a tad in favor of highlighting some more emotional material involving his estranged daughter (Emilia Clarke). Misfits‘ Nathan Stewart-Jarrett makes an appearance, as does Clarke’s lovely singing voice. Watch it after the jump.

Jude Law is a pretty, pretty man, and (like many actors) he’s enjoyed a long, healthy career in part by capitalizing on this fact. But in Dom Hemingway, he’s nothing like the handsome, elegant presence we’ve come to expect. Instead, he looks bleary and bloated and altogether slimy, and his performance looks all the more entertaining for it.
Directed by Richard Shepard, the British crime dramedy stars Law as a loud, lewd safecracker just coming off of a twelve-year stint in prison. He reunites with his BFF (Richard E. Grant) to try to get his life back on track, which means trying to collect what he’s owed from his boss (Demián Bichir) and mending his relationship with his daughter (Emilia Clarke). Check out the newest red-band trailer after the jump.

After a string of strong supporting roles, Jude Law returns to the spotlight in Dom Hemingway. And what a noisy, colorful return it may be.
The gangster pic stars Law as a safecracker who’s just spent twelve years in prison for keeping his mouth shut. Once out, he reconnects with his old life by trying to collect his due from his boss (Demián Bichir) and make up with his estranged daughter (Emilia Clarke). Richard E. Grant plays Dom’s best friend, who’s along for the ride.
The first trailer has just hit, and you can check it out after the jump. Be warned that it’s NSFW, unless your own boss doesn’t mind seeing Law’s bare bottom on your computer screen.

Here’s the full UK trailer for The Iron Lady, in which Meryl Streep plays a strangely attractive version of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
There’s a lot of fire in Streep’s performance that will will likely overwhelm any complaints about a lack of authenticity. This trailer is a little bit The King’s Speech, and a little bit poppy thanks to the tongue-in-cheek use of ‘Our House’ by Madness, but in general it gets across the idea of Thatcher as a determined and iron-willed leader. Check it out below. Read More »
Cool Posts From Around the Web:
A day can’t go by in the past week without another name being added to the cast of the comedy/satire Butter. Now it’s Hugh Jackman‘s turn. He’ll be “an old flame” for Jennifer Garner‘s character. Not sure how large a role this will be, but I like the idea of Jackman turning up in smaller parts here and there, such as in Wayne Wang’s The Snow Flower and the Secret Fan and Lee Daniels’ Selma. After the break, Viola Davis and Toni Collette have new projects, and a new film for Green Lantern co-star Blake Lively. Read More »
