I’ve never heard of Blaze Foley, and perhaps you haven’t either. If that’s the case, Ethan Hawke wants to remedy that with his new film Blaze. Hawke helms the new drama which examines the life of the late country music singer-songwriter, who died in 1989. Watch the Blaze trailer below.

In Deadfall, Eric Bana and Olivia Wilde are a brother/sister team who heist a casino and then get stuck near the snowy US/Canada border as they try to make their escape. Bana goes his own way as Wilde leverages the interest of a small-town ex-boxer (Charlie Hunnam) who is en route to a holiday feast with his family (Kris Kristofferson and Sissy Spacek).
That cast is probably enough to raise a little interest in the movie, but the first trailer for Deadfall makes it look like a tense little thriller. Read More »

Even his brief stint in rehab doesn’t seem to have slowed down Gerard Butler much at all. With Movie 43, Playing the Field, and Of Men and Mavericks all due out this year, and Hunter Killer, Thunder Run, Brilliant, and How to Train Your Dragon 2 already on his upcoming slate, the Scottish star has booked yet another role. Described as “Die Hard in the White House,” Olympus Has Fallen will see Butler starring as an ex-Secret Service agent who’s called upon to serve his country once more when terrorists take over 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Butler is also set to produce the action thriller from newbie writers Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt, which is set up at Millennium. No director has been announced at this time, but with production scheduled for a September start we expect we’ll hear some news on that front soon. [THR]
After the jump, Phil Dunphy replaces Tony Stark, and that Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close kid gets two more jobs.

We’ve seen movies about handicapped people overcoming odds. We’ve seen movies about humans developing special relationships with animals and we’ve seen inspirational family movies. Dolphin Tale incorporates all three in 3D. Directed by Charles Martin Smith (Air Bud, but he’s best known as Agent Wallace in The Untouchables) the film stars a tailless dolphin named Winter, playing herself in a pseudo spoiler, who is kept alive and mobile by a group of people around a Florida aquarium including Morgan Freeman, Ashley Judd, Harry Connick, Jr. and Kris Kristofferson. It’ll released in 3D on September 23. Check out the trailer after the jump. Read More »
Cool Posts From Around the Web:
Last time we heard about the film Blackbird, it was called Kin. That was when Eric Bana and Olivia Wilde were cast as “two desperate sibling fugitives (Eric Bana and Olivia Wilde) on the run who subsequently collide with the holiday homecoming of a troubled ex-boxer (Charlie Hunnam).” The film’s name has changed, but that cast remains the same.
Now Kate Mara and Treat Williams have taken roles, playing a father and daughter who factor into the story. Sissy Spacek and Kris Kristofferson are also on board as the parents of Charlie Hunnam’s boxer. That’s a pretty cool parent pairing; in general this is shaping up with quite the strong cast. Stefan Ruzowitzky is directing from a script by Zach Dean, and the film shoots in March in Montreal. [Variety]
