guardians of the galaxy 3 script

Despite nearly a month passing since Disney’s firing of James Gunn, the status of the immensely popular Guardians of the Galaxy films remains a mystery. Marvel Studios has honed itself into a movie-making machine in the past decade, and a month without a director or writer is lost time and money for the company. But curiously, the House of Mouse has yet to announce a new director for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, even as Gunn reportedly fields tons of new offers from competing studios.

Now, a new report suggests that Disney still plans to use the Guardians of the Galaxy 3 script that Gunn was working on before he was controversially fired over old offensive tweets. Read More »

Rocket Raccoon Origin Story

The first Guardians of the Galaxy introduced us to the ragtag team of space convicts who were one of Marvel Comics more obscure properties. Director James Gunn brought them into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it was one of the most acclaimed movies in the overarching comic book franchise to date. He followed it up with the satisfying sequel this past summer, and when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 rolls around, likely sometime in 2020, it will help kick off the next 10 years of the MCU. And now we have an idea of what we can expect from at least one of the characters from the cosmic superhero team. Read More »

Even though Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 just hit theaters over a month ago, James Gunn is already hard at work on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Just recently, the director’s brother Sean Gunn said that development isn’t moving as quickly as it otherwise would since part of what happens in the sequel depends on what the Guardians deal with in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4.

But there is one thing that James Gunn is already considering and it would require him to break part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe canon he established in the first movie. Get the lowdown on this Guardians of the Galaxy 3 development below. Read More »

Elizabeth Debicki in Guardians of the Galaxy 3

Though Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 just opened, fans are already looking forward to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Guardians of the Galaxy 2

Even though the official numbers won’t be in until Monday morning, the estimates for the opening weekend for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in the United States is around $145 million. That’s quite an improvement over the original’s $94.3 million opening weekend in 2014, giving it the largest jump in opening weekend box office for a sequel, coming in only behind Captain America: The Winter Soldier. And that means we’ll definitely be getting Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, as if there was any doubt.

We’ve already gotten word that Guardians of the Galaxy 3 will help set up the next 10 years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it will also be the end of the story for the current iteration of the squad of cosmic superheroes. Now director James Gunn has teased when we’ll get to see the threequel while thanking fans for all their support for the sequel’s opening weekend. Read what he had to say after the jump. Read More »

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Review

With the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 next week, James Gunn has already confirmed that he will return for Guardians of the Galaxy 3. After making that announcement, plenty of questions were thrown at the director about what we can expect from the next installment of the cosmic comic book franchise.

So far we’ve learned that the third movie will complete a trilogy for this iteration of the Guardians of the Galaxy, and after that the team line-up will evolve to include new team members who will have been introduced by the end of the trilogy. But that’s not all that Guardians of the Galaxy 3 will do. The sequel will help set up the next 10 years of Marvel Studios movies, and James Gunn is key in helping determine which movies will be made.

Find out more about Guardians of the Galaxy 3 below, but beware of huge spoilers for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, especially for the credits scenes and cameos. Read More »

guardians of the galaxy trilogy

We knew the third volume of Guardians of the Galaxy may spell the end for the team as we know it, but it looks like it will wrap up the loose ends before dismantling everything.

James Gunn is planning to make his Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy one complete story. The Guardians will make an appearance in Avengers: Infinity War before their third outing as a team, but then that may be the last we see of this iteration of the Guardians of the Galaxy. But don’t worry: though Gunn may be wrapping up his flagship series, this won’t be the last we see of him with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
