As the race for the year’s most coveted trophies came to a close with this weekend’s Oscars ceremony, another much less prestigious awards competition was just getting started. Nominations have been announced for the 32nd Razzie Awards, handed out to the “worst achievements in film” each year.

Leading the 2012 list is Adam Sandler, whose involvement in Jack and Jill, Bucky Larson, and Just Go With It earned him a record-breaking eleven Razzie nominations. That’s more than twice as many as the previous record holder, Norbit star Eddie Murphy, received in 2007. Other standouts include Nicolas Cage, Ken Jeong, Sarah Palin, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I, and The Hangover Part II. Read the full list of nominees after the jump.

‘Drive Angry 3D’ Super Bowl Commercial

Not only are people who are watching the Packers play the Steelers in Super Bowl XLV on Sunday going to see a (hopefully) great game, they’re going to see Nicolas Cage return from hell for 3D revenge. Summit purchased a coveted spot for the upcoming action film Drive Angry 3D and one of the quotes used in the trailer just happens to be from our fair leader, Peter Sciretta, who calls the film “Insanely fun.” What I think it “insanely fun” is having your name on the TV during the Super Bowl.

After the jump, check out the Super Bowl commercial for the Patrick Lussier film starring Cage, Amber Heard, Billy Burke and William Fichtner, coming out February 25. Read More »

Are you sick of all the high-minded ads for films hyping up the awards season praise that has been piling up for some? Then this might be your antidote. A fresh red-band clip for Drive Angry 3D has been shot out of the UK like a magic bullet. It is full of blood, explosions and a few boobs. Most of the footage is stuff we’ve seen before, only this time it is edited to go just a bit farther. Check it out if you want to see a man’s hand blown off. Read More »

Drive Angry 3D Director/Co-Writer Patrick Lussier and Co-Writer Todd Farmer have provided us with a list of their favorite movie car chases. It’s worth noting that Lussier was just selected as one of Variety’s Top 10 Directors to Watch. Drive Angry hits theaters on February 25th 2011. Check out the list after the jump.

Drive Angry 3D UK Trailer

Summit Entertainment have released a UK International movie trailer for their upcoming 3D action revenge film Drive Angry 3D. The film stars Nicolas Cage as a “vengeful father chases after the men who killed his daughter.” The movie is directed by Patrick Lussier, the helmer of My Bloody Valentine 3D, and the story is based on a screenplay he co-wrote with his Valentine writing partner Todd Farmer.

The story is definitely R-Rated, an enraged man who is out for revenge, chasing the people who killed his daughter and kidnapped her baby. I got a chance to screen a sneak preview of the film at Butt-num-a-thon earlier this month, and all I can tell you is that it is an insanely fun ride. If you want to see a bloody action-filled gimmicky action movie — this is it.

BleedingCool have posted a new UK movie trailer, which we have embedded after the jump.

Briefly: Release date news items are rarely all that intriguing, so I almost feel as if I should apologize for the minor deluge of these articles over the past 24 hours. After Universal announced a whole slate of films for the coming two years, Fox has spoken up, too. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, to be directed by Timur Bekmambetov, produced by him and Tim Burton, and with a cast yet to be announced, will hit on June 22, 2012. That sandwiches the film in between Pixar’s Brave and Star Trek 2.

(Recap: That’s based on Seth Grahame-Smith‘s book in which Abraham Lincoln’s mother was a victim of the supernatural, which pushes him toward a life of slaying monsters and slavery.)

Meanwhile, Summit has changed the date for Drive Angry 3D, pushing it back two weeks to February 25, 2011. The film from Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer (who are also tackling the new Hellraiser for Dimension) stars Nicolas Cage and Amber Heard. Looks like it might be a fun, almost old-school auto/action movie.

Movie Trailer and Poster: ‘Drive Angry 3D’

Did someone declare today Drive Angry 3D day and we didn’t get the memo? I only ask because not only has the brand new theatrical trailer just come online, but the poster as well. From My Bloody Valentine 3D director Patrick Lussier (no relation) and starring Nicolas Cage, Amber Heard, William Fichtner, David Morse, Billy Burke and Tom Atkins, Drive Angry 3D is about a man who breaks out of hell to get violent, R-rated revenge on the cult who killed his daughter and stole her baby. Footage from the film premiered at Comic Con and was one of the biggest hits of the convention. It’s scheduled for release February 11, 2011. Click below for the full poster and trailer. Just the other day we showed you a few concept art images from Patrick Lussier‘s Drive Angry 3D, which stars Nicolas Cage as a father brought back from Hell to avenge crimes against his daughter and granddaughter. Now there’s the first photo of Cage, looking even more insane than usual. There’s also an image of Amber Heard, who lounges in a muscle car thinking that if people had ever had the chance to see her in All the Boys Love Mandy Lane, she’d have been cast over Megan Fox in Transformers.
