“A video of everything wrong with Iron Man 2? What is it, the whole movie?” That was what first popped into my head when I saw that the CinemaSins team was back to their old tricks, ripping apart some of pop culture’s biggest movies. In honor of this week’s release of Iron Man 3, they’ve gone ahead and dissected the film most people consider the worst of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Iron Man 2, in six minutes or less.
Jon Favreau‘s second Iron Man film has been a huge point of contention since its release in 2010. Many people love its fun irreverence and the way it sets up the next few Marvel movies for The Avengers. But others think it’s a mine field of plot holes, weak narrative connections and questionable character motivations, partially because of its production during the writer’s strike.

Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight is a shining example of a what a comic book movie can be. It’s dark and exciting, and the performances are as rich as the story. In fact, the film is so well-regarded some fans put it on an unattainable pedestal and vehemently attack anyone who dare say anything negative about Nolan’s second entry in his Batman trilogy.
But the film has some problems. A plot hole here, questionable motivation there. While most people tend to forgive those for the sake of pure, well-made entertainment, the CinemaSins team is not among those people. In 2012, nitpicking movies became the latest online craze. Everyone got wrapped up in it. Some may blame the movies, but I blame fans with video editing skills who make videos like the ones below.
Three of the year’s most discussed movies – Rian Johnson‘s Looper, Ridley Scott’s Prometheus and Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight Rises – are the latest to get “Everything Wrong With In 3-4 Minute” videos from CinemaSins.
