It's a Wonderful Life Table Read

It’s A Wonderful Life is a classic that families watch together during the holiday season, especially on Christmas Eve when NBC airs it every year. But this year, Frank Capra‘s beloved 1946 film will get a bit of a makeover courtesy of a charity table read put together for The Ed Asner Family Center, which promotes mental health and enrichment programs to special needs children and their families.

Saturday Night Live cast member Pete Davidson has been tapped to take the lead role of George Bailey, famously portrayed by the legendary Jimmy Stewart. Joining the comedian will be his King of Staten Island co-star Maude Apatow as Violet Bick, as well as an impressive all-star ensemble to flesh out the rest of the cast. Independence Day Coronavirus PSA by Bill Pullman

“Today we celebrate our Independence Day.” There are few speeches as rousing as the one given in Independence Day by Bill Pullman as President Thomas J. Whitmore, inspiring a ragtag team of pilots to take down the alien invaders that have wreaked havoc across the globe.

But there’s a real threat facing America and the rest of the world today, and it’s not an alien invasion. It’s the coronavirus pandemic. That’s why Alamo Drafthouse brought back Bill Pullman to inspire people to protect themselves and their fellow Americans by wearing a mask to squash the spread of COVID-19. If everyone wears a mask for just a month, we can beat this thing and truly celebrate our freedom. Read More »

Independence Day Resurgence Review

When Independence Day hit theaters in 1996, it brought the spectacle of global destruction, exciting action, some decent laughs, and an ensemble of memorable characters with nary a huge movie star in sight. Twenty years later, Independence Day: Resurgence attempts to deliver all that again. But despite a plot point out of left field that shifts the sequel away from a simple retread of the original and toward an absolute bonkers, universe-expanding set-up for a sequel, this follow-up falls flat and lacks any of the heart, charm, efficiency and exhilaration that makes the first one entertaining to this day.

Independence Day Resurgence Trailer

With just over a month until the aliens come back to finish the job in Independence Day: Resurgence, a new extended trailer gives us our longest look at the blockbuster sequel yet. A bunch of new footage combined with what we’ve seen in the previous trailers gives us our best glimpse yet at the story, characters and pure destruction awaiting us this summer. However, I will say if you’re already on board with seeing this movie, don’t watch this trailer, because it shows a little too much.
