Fans of the movie-mocking Mystery Science Theater 3000 had their wildest dreams come true when a successful Kickstarter campaign resulted in the show getting revived for a whole new season of episodes making fun of more movies. Making the return of the show even sweeter was that Netflix picked it up for exclusive distribution on their streaming service.
The Mystery Science Theater 3000 revival has been in production for awhile, and now we finally get to see how the whole new crew of the Satellite of Love looks in the first cast photo. For the past month, we’ve been reporting on the progress of a Kickstarter campaign to bring back the cult favorite, movie-mocking TV series Mystery Science Theater 3000. Creator Joel Hodgson started an ambitious crowd-fund campaign to raise $5.5 million in order to produce 12 new episodes of the show with a whole new cast, and last night the campaign ended with even more good news than expected.

Today the Kickstarter for the revival of Mystery Science Theater 3000 crossed $4.4 million, guaranteeing that at least nine new episodes will be produced. Creator Joel Hodgson is hoping to reach $5.5 million in order to be able to make a full season of 12 episodes, but they only have two days left before the campaign ends this Friday.
