If you know anything about me, you know I’m a Muppets fanatic. And judging by the walls in my home, you can see I’m a huge fan of artist Kevin M. Wilson, better known as Ape Meets Girl. We’ve featured many of his prints on the site over the years, and he will have a few new releases at New York Comic-Con, including this spectacular The Muppet Show print. To say I’m excited about this print is an understatement.

Hero Complex Gallery is doing spring the right way with the kind of Easter egg hunt that cinephiles like you and me enjoy the most.
Artists Ape Meets Girl (AKA Kevin M. Wilson) and Vance Kelly are teaming up for a special gallery show called Easter Eggs, and if you’re familiar with their artwork, like the Gremlins print we featured not too long ago, than you know exactly what to expect. Their artwork pays tribute not just to a single movie but dozens of movies by laying Easter eggs referencing other films throughout.
Hero Complex Gallery is playing this show pretty close to the vest, but they’ve exclusively given us two new pieces that will be debuting. One will make sci-fi fans very happy while the other one will be a must-have for any Quentin Tarantino Afficionado. Read More »
Just over a week ago, we featured a round-up of some fantastic new artwork from Hero Complex Gallery that debuted at New York Comic-Con 2017. One of our favorites was a new piece from Ape Meets Girl (aka Kevin M. Wilson) paying tribute to Joe Dante‘s horror comedy Gremlins, and now we can offer you a much closer look at the print to see how much detail went into it for all you movie and TV nerds out there.
The Gremlins print by Ape Meets Girl is called “The Old Curiosity Shop,” named for the hole-in-the-wall antique market where inventor Randall Peltzer comes into possession of a mysterious creature called a Mogwai. While the shop in the movie was full of random antique goods from around the world, the shop as depicted in the Ape Meets Girl Gremlins print is full of Easter eggs from your favorite movies and TV show. There are 84 altogether, and not only can we can help you spot every single one of them, but we have high-resolution images and an answer key that make them infinitely easier to spot. Read More »

There’s no arguing Steven Spielberg‘s Jaws is a masterpiece. An infinitely rewatchable thriller that’s quotable, entertaining and influential. One of the many places you see that influence today is the pop culture art world. Jaws is regularly one of the most reimagined properties out there. There have been full art shows dedicated to the film as well as innumerable one off pieces here and there. And with each subsequent poster released, the artists seem to be inspired to top one another.
Which leads us to the latest Jaws print by Kevin M. Wilson aka Ape Meets Girl. He took the intense film and boiled it down into a serene landscape showing Amity Island in its before, and after, settings. See the full Ape Meets Girl Jaws posters below. Read More »
