Back in May, a group of journalists hopped in a van and were driven to Sea World in San Diego, CA to visit the final day of shooting Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. It was a day for the ages, filled with some of the biggest laughs I’ve ever had, and you can read about it here. During the quieter moments, we spoke with co-writer and director Adam McKay as well as star and co-writer Will Ferrell.
Below, you can read the full transcript of the on-set discussion with McKay, which reads like a master class in staying cool under pressure when directing one of the biggest comedies of the year. Read More »
Ron Burgundy is back and this time he’s fighting a dolphin. At least that’s what happens at the beginning of Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. The film begins with Burgundy back on the bottom. He somehow lost the national anchor job he landed at the end of the first film, and is working at San Diego’s SeaWorld. Drunk, belligerent and confrontational, the former anchorman introduces the 3:20 dolphin show and things get so bad, he ends up jawing back and forth with a dolphin.
For Ron, the person, this is terrible. But for Ron, the character, it’s great. After nine years away, star Will Ferrell’s most iconic character is back on the big screen December 20. But on May 24, 2013, we were lucky enough to be on location at SeaWorld in San Diego, CA for the final day of filming Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.
Below, read about how this wacky scene develops including some of the most hilarious improvs you’ll ever read. Read More »

Cool Posts From Around the Web:
For every one joke you’ve laughed at in an Adam McKay movie, there are probably 10 other completely different jokes that hit the cutting room floor. Sadly, fans rarely get to see most of these, except for the occasional extra feature on the DVD. For his next film, though, McKay is considering something very radical. While the first Anchorman spawned a direct-to-DVD alternate version, he’s considering releasing a whole second version of Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, with over 240 brand news jokes, to theaters. The domestic trailer is funny – more Ron, more Champ, more Brick, more Brian, more absolute insanity in the world of 24 hour news, but the international trailer is brilliant, giving a much better sense of what the story is.
The films opens Christmas Day. Check out the two new trailers below.
