Pitch Perfect Virtual Reunion

If you thought Pitch Perfect 3 was the last time the Barden Bellas would get back together make some aca-awesome a cappella music with their mouths, think again.

As the musical competition circuit announcers John Smith (John Michael Higgins) and Gail Abernathy-McKadden-Feinberger (Elizabeth Banks) so succinctly put it, “It seems that not even a quarantine could keep them from harassing us with another musical performance.” The Barden Bellas from across all three of the Pitch Perfect movies have gotten back together virtually, including Anna Kendrick and Hailee Steinfeld, to perform Beyoncé’s 2011 hit “Love On Top,” and it’s all for charity. As usual, the MTV Movie Awards this year were pretty uneventful. The best bit happened right at the beginning when host Rebel Wilson got the majority of her Pitch Perfect co-stars to do an a capella opening. Yup, that’s right, the Barden Bellas and Treblemakers hit the MTV stage Sunday night to sing a medley of popular hits including Macklemore’s Thrift Shop, Eminem’s Lose Yourself and more.

Wu-Tang Clan producer and MC the RZA is in China now shooting his first big studio feature as writer, director and star. RZA wrote The Man With the Iron Fist with Eli Roth, and the two have Lucy Liu, Daniel Wu and Byron Mann in the cast. Also in the latest report is word that Russell Crowe, long rumored to have a role in the film, is in fact part of the cast. Reportedly he’ll be in China for most of February, which suggests that his part isn’t a small one. [Film Business Asia via Twitch]
