Chucky cast Alex Vincent and Christine Elise

Alex Vincent, who starred in Child’s Play and Child’s Play 2, and Christine Elise, who co-starred with Vincent in Child’s Play 2, are returning to the franchise for Chucky, the new TV series headed to SYFY and USA. They join returning franchise players Brad Dourif, Jennifer Tilly, and Fiona Dourif for the series, which comes from Child’s Play co-creator Don Mancini. The series is set in a small town that’s thrown into chaos when a Chucky doll shows up at a yard sale.

All of the Chucky Movies Ranked

Against all odds, the Chucky franchise endures. Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, and Halloween have all been rebooted, and even before they were rebooted, their original creators usually departed after one or two films. Yet the Child’s Play franchise has maintained the same driving force for almost 30 years. Writer Don Mancini was the person who came up with Chucky, and he’s been writing the series ever since, eventually making the shift to behind the camera to direct the films as well.

Now, as Cult of Chucky, the latest film in the series, hits Blu-ray and Netflix, it’s time to do the only logical thing: it’s time to rank the Chucky movies.

Say what you will about Chucky, the murderous doll who first appeared in the 1988 movie Child’s Play, but the cinematic killer has definitely proven to have some serious staying power. It’s been four years since the knife-wielding serial slasher, who’s been voiced by The Lord of the Rings and Deadwood actor Brad Dourif in all six Chucky movies so far, appeared in Curse of Chucky. But now he’s back in another new direct-to-video horror film from director Don Mancini, who’s helmed the three most recent entries.
