San Diego Comic-Con tries its best to stay family-friendly. Every once in a while, the powers that be deem some footage too mature for kids in attendance. That’s what happened with the latest trailer for Ash vs Evil Dead season two, which features plenty of limbs flying through the air and some great, messy practical blood effects.
Below, watch the Ash vs Evil Dead Banned Comic Con trailer.

Sam Raimi finally gave us more Evil Dead, and not just another movie but a whole TV series. He even directed the pilot of Ash Vs. Evil Dead, starring Bruce Campbell, but of course Sam Raimi is a movie director. He can’t run a show full time, so he found an experienced show runner.
Craig DiGregorio has worked on Chuck, Reaper, Workaholics and more. He was on a panel with Raimi and Campbell for the Television Critics Association this summer, where Campbell characteristically took over and Raimi modestly downplayed his greatest contributions. We got to speak with DiGregorio at length about Ash Vs. Evil Dead, which picks up Ash today living in a trailer and working at Value Stop when he reads from the Necronomicon he’s kept all these years. Lucy Lawless also stars as Ruby, the daughter of Professor Nowby, whose incantation Ash played in the cabin. Hit the jump for the Ash Vs Evil Dead Interview with showrunner Craig DiGregorio.

It’s only been 23 years since Army of Darkness debuted in 1992, but when we are reunited with Bruce Campbell on Ash vs Evil Dead on Starz this Halloween, within the confines of the narrative, 30 years will have passed since our chainsaw-handed hero took any responsibility as the monster hunter meat to stop the Evil Dead.
And if you want a sneak peek at the return of Ash, the first four minutes of the series have been made available online as a way to convince anyone who doesn’t pay for Starz to call their cable subscriber and change that. Will this new Ash vs Evil Dead clip be enough to convince people to pay for another set of channels? Read More »

With Ash vs. Evil Dead set to arrive Starz this Halloween, the chances of a proper Evil Dead 4 just dwindled to near zero. After all, surely a new TV series can cover whatever ground a proper film sequel would have have gone over. If it’s a hit, Ash vs. Evil Dead could essentially become Evil Dead 5 and Evil Dead 6 and so on, taking this beloved horror series in whatever direction it desires for as long as it desires.
But there’s still that aura of “What-if?” and mystery surrounding a third Evil Dead sequel, and franchise director and mastermind Sam Raimi has only compounded it. Now that he’s started talking about what could have been, we really want to see it happen.
For details on the dead (for now) Evil Dead 4 plot, hit the jump and read on.
