After rumors swirled last week that Girl Meets World hadn’t been renewed for a fourth season, Disney Channel has made it official.
The spin-off of the ABC sitcom Boy Meets World will be coming to an end when the third season finale airs later this month. The good news is that it seems like the writers weren’t completely blindsided by this decision, and the final episode will have a somewhat proper send-off for fans who will be sad to see it go. For anyone who still has love for the 1987 comedy favorite Adventures in Babysitting, prepare yourself for a lot of eye-rolling as you watch the new trailer for the remake heading to Disney Channel this summer. This time there are two babysitters, played by Sabrina Carpenter (Girl Meets World) and Sofia Carson (Disney’s Descendants), traipsing around the city looking for one of the kids they’re supposed to be babysitting, who somehow gets lost.
The new Adventures in Babysitting trailer shows us more of the rap battle, in place of the blues club scene from the original movie, where the two babysitters perform an impromptu rap about how their night has gone awry. It’s not quite as endearing as the original for obvious reasons, but if you have any tweens in your household, they’ll probably love it. Read More »
Even though the David Gordon Green comedy The Sitter was basically a raunchy, darker version of Adventures in Babysitting, the family comedy favorite from 1987 is getting a more official remake by way of The Disney Channel. This time instead of one babysitter played by Elisabeth Shue forced to take some kids out for a night in the scary city of Chicago in order to save a stranded friend, there are two babysitters with a different problem.
This time Disney Channel has two of their own stars, Sabrina Carpenter of Girl Meets World and Sofia Carson of The Descendants, leading the movie as two babysitters who have lost one of the kids they’re supposed to be watching. The first Adventures in Babysitting trailer has just arrived, and it’s about what you would expect from Disney Channel, for better or worse. Read More »
If you grew up in the Eighties, Chris Columbus‘ 1987 comedy Adventures in Babysitting was one of your go-to films. It starred Elizabeth Shue as a babysitter who winds up getting into some crazy situations with three kids she’s supposed to be babysitting. The film did okay at the box office upon release but became a staple of sleepovers, parties, and TV viewing after that. For many, it’s one of the definitive kid adventure films of the Eighties.
Rumblings of a remake of the film has been around for the better part of the decade. On this very site, Peter got very, very mad about Raven Symone potentially starring in a film called Further Adventures in Babysitting back in 2007. Well, Raven has aged out of it but the idea stays the same and now that movie is actually happening. Disney has announced Further Adventures in Babysitting, an Adventures in Babysitting remake, will be coming soon to Disney Channel. Read More »
Here’s the first teaser for the adaptation of Joe Hill‘s novel Horns, which comes from director Alexandre Aja (High Tension, Piranha 3D). Daniel Radcliffe stars as Ignatius, a guy whose girlfriend perishes under mysterious circumstances, leading most everyone to think Radcliffe is the person responsible. There’s more to it than that, and one of the story’s complications is that Ignatius grows horns, and finds that this new physical development also brings a power to compel others to admit hidden details about their lives. Juno Temple and Sabrina Carpenter also star in the film adapted by Keith Bunin; watch the Horns teaser below.
