Rita Moreno was on a Television Critics Association panel for One Day at a Time. Netflix cancelled the sitcom, but Pop brought it back for a fourth season. Moreno also appears in Steven Spielberg’s remake of West Side Story, which is noteworthy becuase Moreno won an Oscar for her role in Robert Wise and Jerome Robbins’ original 1961 adaptation of the musical.

Moreno hung around after the One Day at a Time panel to talk to journalists more about West Side Story. Ariana DeBose now plays Moreno’s original role of Anita, but they created the new character of Valentina for Moreno.

When it comes to the entertainment industry, there are legends and then there are Legends with a capital “L” and some italics. Rita Moreno is the latter. Over 50 years after she won an Oscar for her work in 1961’s West Side Story, the legendary triple threat will return for the new version being helmed by fellow Legend Steven Spielberg. And if you’re racking your brain trying to remember a role in the original movie appropriate for an 86-year old woman, stop trying. Moreno will be playing a new character created specifically for the remake.

‘Rio 2’ Cast and Plot Details Announced

After Anne Hathaway picks up her statue for Best Supporting Actress (Nate Silver said it would happen, so it must be true), she’ll be heading to the sunny beaches of Brazil. Or at least, she’ll be heading to a recording booth where she’ll pretend to be on the sunny beaches of Brazil.

Fox announced today that Hathaway will reprise her role for Rio 2, along with most of her Rio co-stars including Jesse Eisenberg, Jemaine Clement, will.i.am, Tracy Morgan, and George Lopez.
