Back in the fall of 2015, news surfaced that Paramount Pictures was working on a live-action animated hybrid movie that would bring back some of the staple Nicktoons from the ’90s era of Nickelodeon. Since then, Napoleon Dynamite director Jerusha Hess was brought on as director, but it’s been over a year and we haven’t heard any significant updates on the project. However, we did just find out that one Nicktoon thought to be included won’t show up in any new line-up of the cartoons.
According to Ren and Stimpy co-creator Bob Camp, his angry chihuahua and charmingly dimwitted red cat probably won’t be involved in the developing Nicktoons movie or considered as a possible reboot, as it seems there’s some bad blood between the cartoon’s creators and Nickelodeon.

One of the most revered cartoons for children of the ’90s is Rugrats. The Nickelodeon animated series followed the antics of a group of babies who could talk to each other when their parents weren’t around, and they constantly got into mischief and adventures. The show has quite the fair share of adult fans who have taken to introducing the series to their own kids now. Over a week ago, we learned that Nickelodeon was planning on bringing a 90s programming block called The Splat to the kids network, bringing back some of their most iconic shows from 15-25 years ago. Details were scarce at the time, but hot on the heels of the Good Burger reunion on The Tonight Show, more complete information has been revealed.
