The Raid co-stars Iko Uwais and Joe Taslim reunited in an Indonesian action flick even more brutal than the Gareth Evans thriller? Yes please. The Night Comes For Us made blood and brains splatter when it debuted at Fantastic Fest in Austin last month, delivering the kind of thrills that genre fanatics could only dream of. And the Timo Tjahjanto action film is a Netflix production, which means you’ll get to see it soon. The streaming service just released a The Night Comes For Us Trailer ahead of the badass action flick’s premiere on the streaming service later this month.

The Night Comes for Us Review

When writer/director Timo Tjahjanto introduced The Night Comes For Us to an eager Fantastic Fest crowd, he promised “a truckload” of dead bodies would stack tall in his “Asian-on-Asian” Triad brutalizer. Carcasses maimed, mangled, and beaten to pulpy piles of mush by a cast of The Raid and Headshot veterans. Maybe a Ford F-150 sized “truckload,” I wondered? Not even close. The Night Comes For Us is a bloody, action-packed gangland punch-a-minute thriller that might as well be The Raid 3 based on style and body count. Tjahjanto kicks infinite ass and beats boredom into a sniveling oblivion.

Briefly: The latest film in Universal’s cash cow Fast and Furious franchise got under way today. Justin Lin, who has made the last three installments, is directing once again, with a big returning cast that includes Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez and Dwayne Johnson.

There are new faces to the series, too, such as Gina Carano, and Luke Evans as one of the villains. And now, as production kicks off, there is one more addition: Joe Taslim, who kicked ass in The Raid, will also kick ass in Fast and Furious 6. Read More »
