Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom music

The sounds of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will include things like volcanic eruptions, explosions, and dinosaurs biting into their prey, but if we were to hear the sounds that played during the actual filming of the movie, we’d hear a whole lot of music.

On the set of the upcoming Jurassic World sequel, director J.A. Bayona told us how he used music to enhance his actors’ performances – and even scare them a little. Read More »

J.A. Bayona makes his Jurassic debut with Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, but there was a time when the filmmaker could’ve entered the franchise a lot sooner. During our Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom set visit, producers Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley revealed that Bayona was the original choice for Jurassic World director before Colin Trevorrow got the job.

jurassic world fallen kingdom viral

It’s been four long years since disaster hit the Jurassic World theme park. In the time since then, Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) has traded heels for sneakers, a severe bob for long flowing locks, and a shallow corporate mindset for conservation activism.

The term “Dinosaur Protection Group” has been thrown around in various synopses for J.A. Bayona‘s upcoming Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, but what do we know about it? A new Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom viral website reveals the Dinosaur Protection Group’s mission, and offers a peek at Claire’s more sunny outlook.

jurassic world fallen kingdom trailer breakdown

The first trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom generated an admittedly tepid response. Here we go again, people thought, as the trailer went through the motions of showing more dinosaurs, more explosions, and more chases — but this time, without heels.

But then Paramount dropped a second trailer during Super Bowl Sunday, and it blew us all away. It turns out that the Jurassic World sequel is more than simply a rescue mission – it’s a classic clash between dinosaur rights activists and the greedy corporate hacks who only want to make bigger, badder monsters.

Below, we break down the Jurassic World Super Bowl trailer.

heels in Jurassic World

Bryce Dallas Howard is letting her hair down (so to speak) and putting her heels away for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Howard’s character Claire was at the center of much hoopla when Colin Trevorrow’s Jurassic World hit theaters in 2015 — with many incredulous at the prospect of a woman running away from giant prehistoric reptiles while wearing stiletto heels in the jungle.

It’s an issue that’s been tested and Mythbusted, as well as the subject of a thousand think pieces about sexism in the work force. But you don’t have to worry about it becoming another hot topic in its sequel — director J.A. Bayona promises: no heels.

Jurassic World 2 action

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom certainly has a lot to live up to in terms of box office performance. (Jurassic World is the fourth biggest movie of all time worldwide. That’s nuts, and I actually like that movie!) But putting the financial conversation aside, how will the movie fare from a creative perspective? Hardcore fans are largely thrilled with what they’ve seen so far, but I wonder how general audiences feel about the idea of a dinosaur rescue mission and a volcano threatening to blow up the island.

If it’s action you’re hoping for, it sounds like you won’t be disappointed. Fallen Kingdom director J.A. Bayona says the film contains “the biggest set-piece ever done for a Jurassic movie” and compares another action sequence to something out of a James Bond movie. But is bigger action what this franchise needs?

Jurassic World 3

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is one of several blockbuster sequels that will arrive in the summer of 2018, and it also appears to be the one which feels the most unnecessary. The first trailer for the sequel arrived earlier this month, and the reaction was less than stellar. Much like Jurassic World walked the same path as Jurassic Park, but on a larger scale, it appeared Fallen Kingdom was going to venture into the same territory as The Lost World. But that’s not the case, according to writer and producer Colin Trevorrow.

After directing Jurassic World, Colin Trevorrow is letting The Impossible helmer J.A. Bayona get behind the camera. But Trevorrow is still responsible for the script along with frequent collaborator Derek Connolly, so he has plenty of insight into what fans can expect from Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and he says that this isn’t just a retread of The Lost World. Furthermore, it will also set up what’s to come in Jurassic World 3. Read More »
