WarnerMedia had its first Television Critics Association panel for HBO Max since they named their upcoming streaming service. HBO Max Chief Content Officer Kevin Reilly previewed the service last year, but it was still untitled at the time. In their October investor presentation, HBO Max revealed one of their originals is a Green Lantern series from producer Greg Berlanti.
Reilly had an update on Berlanti’s Green Lantern series for the TCA. That led to further questions for Reilly about the future of DC Universe, the company’s current standalone streaming service with originals Titans, Doom Patrol, Harley Quinn and the short-lived Swamp Thing.

McFarlane Toys, Warner Bros. Consumer Products, and DC Comics have revealed the first wave of figures in their new DC Multiverse line of toys. This is a new series of 7-inch figures that will feature DC Comics characters from comics, animated shows, movies live-action TV shows, graphic novels, and much more. The first wave covers everything from Batman: The Animated Series to Arrow, the first series in what would become the interconnected Arrowverse, and much more in between.

In what feels like Warner Bros.’ first truly big shot across the bow of their competition in the streaming wars, a new Green Lantern television series has been announced for the HBO Max streaming service. The title character, a DC Comics mainstay who has been kept off the screen since his disastrous 2011 movie, is primed and ready for a comeback and it certainly sounds like WB is hoping superhero fans will follow him to their new service, which needs a heavy-hitter if it wants to compete against Netflix, Disney+, AppleTV+, and everyone else.
