Seth MacFarlane‘s A Million Ways to Die in the West has fun with lots of Western archetypes: the humble farmer, the gun-toting outlaw, the hooker with the heart of gold… the time-traveling mad scientist? Yes, Back to the Future‘s Doc Brown makes a cameo in the new comedy, as you’ll see after the jump.
And of course, MacFarlane isn’t the only one eager to pay homage to the classic trilogy. Elsewhere, Gillian Jacobs spills the details on the Community–Back to the Future crossover that never was. Hit the jump to get the details and watch Doc Brown’s A Million Ways to Die in the West appearance.

Last week saw Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant’s Hell Baby hitting VOD. Next month, Ken Marino will be unleashing a demonic spawn of his own in Bad Milo. And yes, I do mean Ken Marino, not Gillian Jacobs, who plays his wife.
Directed by Jacob Vaughan, the horror comedy takes the phrase “a pain in the ass” and makes it literal — and deadly. Marino plays Duncan, whose stress triggers severe gastrointestinal distress. But this isn’t just your run-of-the-mill ulcer or IBS. Instead, he discovers that he has a tiny demon living in his butt, who pops out to attack people who’ve pissed off Duncan. Watch the red-band (NSFW) trailer after the jump.

/Film didn’t get a chance to cover the Community Hall H panel at this year’s Comic-Con, sadly, but you can enjoy what we missed thanks to the power of the Internet.
A video of the entire event, from Dan Harmon‘s Iron Man-inspired intro to the final round of applause, has made its way online. Executive producer Chris McKenna and stars Alison Brie, Yvette Nicole Brown, Gillian Jacobs, Ken Jeong, Danny Pudi, and Jim Rash were also along for the ride. Watch it after the jump.

Briefly: Making a hot tub travel through time is never easy, so it’s good to have a repairman on hand just in case. Thankfully, in Steve Pink‘s upcoming Hot Tub Time Machine 2, the original hot tub repairman will be returning. Chevy Chase has signed to reprise his mysterious role in the 2010 cult comedy. There’s no word on how big his role will be this time around, but we do know the film (which also returns Craig Robinson, Clark Duke and Rob Corddry) takes the friends a decade into future where they meet the son of John Cusack’s character (who isn’t returning) played by Adam Scott. [Deadline]
Update: Deadline offers the further news that Chase’s one-time Community co-star Gillian Jacobs will play the film’s lead female role.
Until not so long ago, fans of Community might have been excited for, or at least interested in tonight’s TV schedule. The show’s fourth season was originally set to premiere tonight, giving us the first taste of the troubled series without creator Dan Harmon. But the shortened season, now run by David Guarascio and Moses Port, has been indefinitely delayed by NBC.
But you can have some new Community today, as the cast (Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Alison Brie, Donald Glover, Chevy Chase, Ken Jeong, Jim Rash) has come together to create a promo to explain just what today really means for fans of the show. Hint: it’s a mental state. Read More »

Community fans who are still reeling from the loss of showrunner/creator Dan Harmon will be happy to hear that at least some of the other key players on the series remain firmly locked in place. The entire core cast is officially set to return for the NBC comedy’s upcoming fourth season. Aside from noted discontent Chevy Chase, I don’t know that there was ever much doubt the stars would be back, but it’s good news all the same. More details after the jump.

Rapper T.I. has done a few movies (Takers, American Gangster, ATL) but has had his cinematic aspirations derailed by little things like county jail and federal prison stints. But he’s back at work, and in an interview conducted at SXSW, T.I. said that he’s got a couple of film projects on the horizon.
Specifically, the rapper said “there is a Marvel Comic franchise that [has] been inquiring about my availability for some time,” and “we also have a new Tom Cruise film with Doug Liman… I have that as well, on the horizon.” That would be We Mortals Are, once titled All You Need is Kill, the film in which Cruise plays a soldier in a future war who is killed, but has to relive his last hours, Groundhog Day-style, over and over again. I liked one draft of the script quite a bit; the film could be a wild, action-packed and slightly weird experience.
Check the video interview after the break, and get news of Christopher Meloni’s new indie, and the dark comedy that has recruited actors like Gillian Jacobs and Ned Beatty. Read More »

NBC’s Community may be on hiatus, but don’t think for a second that its cast has been slacking off. Not only is production still in full swing, several of the show’s stars have been working on outside projects as well. Gillian Jacobs, for one, has just wrapped Revenge for Jolly! and has a part in this summer’s Seeking a Friend for the End of the World. She’ll next head to Burt Wonderstone, with Steve Carell and Jim Carrey.
Directed by Don Scardino (30 Rock), the comedy centers around a Las Vegas magician (Carell) who finds himself upstaged by a hipper illusionist (Carrey). He then ditches his partner and tries to rediscover his passion for magic. Jacobs is set to play a woman who hooks up with Carell’s character after meeting him at one of his shows. The film already boasts a seriously talented comedic cast, with Brad Garrett, James Gandolfini, Steve Buscemi, and Olivia Wilde on board as well, and Jacobs seems like a fantastic addition. Burt Wonderstone is currently shooting in Las Vegas for a 2013 release. [THR]
After the jump, Jacobs’ Revenge for Jolly! co-star Oscar Isaac nabs another new role.
