The new season of American Horror Story takes place in present day, so the anthology show will now deal with some modern horrors like last year’s presidential election. Yesterday we saw the new credits sequence for the upcoming season featuring an unsettling Donald Trump mask and Hilary Clinton. As for how much the series actually has to say about the election, we’ll find out next month when the hit FX series returns.
Below, watch the American Horror Story season 7 trailer.

The scene-stealing speedster is here to stay in the revamped X-Men series. Quicksilver, played with a charming buoyancy by Evan Peters, is confirmed to be joining the cast of X-Men: Dark Phoenix.
Although Quicksilver didn’t play a role in the original comic book story line of Dark Phoenix, Peters’ two appearances as the mutant speedster in X-Men: Days of Future Past and X-Men: Apocalypse proved to be so popular (and sadly, one of the saving graces of Apocalypse) that he will be written into the plot for the film.

X-Men: Apocalypse took the top spot at the box office this holiday weekend, pulling down just over $65 according to Box Office Mojo, blowing away Disney’s Alice Through the Looking Glass, which is doing nowhere near the big business of the first film. Critics haven’t been too kind to the X-Men sequel (though I found it to be as entertaining as it was flawed), but plenty of comic book movie fans still venture to the theater to see it for themselves.
Even if some of you fans didn’t like the movie, I think we can all agree that Quicksilver’s scene was the best moment in the entire flick. If you want to see how they pulled it off, which actually features more practical effects and wire work than you might imagine, check out an X-Men Apocalypse Quicksilver featurette after the jump. As the third film in the most recent trilogy in the X-Men franchise, it’s pretty bold to have a joke in X-Men: Apocalypse that mentions the third film in a trilogy is usually the worst. The line is meant to take a shot at the almost universally hated X-Men: The Last Stand, and while X-Men: Apocalypse is nowhere near as bad as Brett Ratner’s film from 2006, it’s not without some shortcomings of its own.
X-Men: Apocalypse has a simple, hollow story, spinning a wheel that also treads water. However, it also does a great job of bringing the young versions of familiar X-Men into this modified timeline and delivers some thoroughly entertaining action. In short, X-Men: Apocalypse feels like an extended episode of X-Men: The Animated Series, for better and worse.

Most people would agree X-Men Days of Future Past was a solid addition to the X-Men franchise. Even if they don’t, everyone agrees the Quicksilver scene was the highlight. The way director Bryan Singer used slow motion and camera effects to show how fast the character, played by Evan Peters, was truly memorable. Now it seems, he’s going to do it again.
On his Instagram, Singer tweeted an image of a bunch of actors on wires with the hashtag “#Quicksilver.” It seems everyone’s favorite speedster is gonna make a comeback in X-Men Apocalypse. See the X-men Apocalypse Quicksilver image and more below. Read More »
