Best Movies Streaming March 2018

(Welcome to Now Stream This, a column dedicated to the best movies streaming on Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, and every other streaming service out there.)

The year ticks on. February comes to a close, and March begins. I can think of no better way to kick-off a brand new month than a list of great movies to stream right now (but that may be because I have a limited imagination, who knows). As always, I’ve scoured the far corners of the streaming world to bring you back these entertaining riches.

In this latest edition of Now Stream This, we have a surprisingly funny history lesson from Steven Spielberg, a horror classic that invented an entirely new genre, a Martin Scorsese crime epic, a ’70s mystery movie starring Gene Hackman, a phenomenal new miniseries from Hulu, Steven Soderbergh’s return from retirement, a ’90s thriller, and more!

These are the best movies streaming right now (and a little TV as well). Let’s get streaming.

movies coming to Netflix in March 2018

February is almost over – time to make way for March. And with the new month comes a whole new slew of TV shows and movies coming to Netflix.

March is bringing a ton of new Netflix originals as the streaming service continues to grow its brand, but there are familiar films here as well. There’s something for everyone (sort of). March is ushering in the new season of the best Marvel TV show, a violent gangster epic from Martin Scorsese (guess which one!), a modern sci-fi masterpiece, a hilarious cult comedy, and a nerve-jangling horror movie. There’s other stuff too, and you can see it all below. Check out the best new TV shows and movies coming to Netflix in March 2018.

20 Films Turning 20 in 2015

Clueless

1995 doesn’t feel like it was so very long ago. If you were alive in that era, you probably still remember oohing and ahhing over Toy Story‘s CG-animated surfaces for the very first time, or meeting a brand new 007 in Pierce Brosnan. But in fact, you are wrong. 1995 really was that long ago. At least we still have some favorites of the era to take us back. Even if we’re now streaming them on iTunes instead of popping them into our VCRs.

We’re not saying these are the best films of 1995 — that’s a conversation for another time — but these are the ones that stuck with us. Some because they’ve become reliable favorites, some because they still feel remarkably fresh, and others because they’re so hilariously 1995, they couldn’t possibly have been made at any other time. Join us in revisiting 20 films turning 20 in 2015  after the jump.

Put Martin Scorsese up against any filmmaker and the native New Yorker has a fighting shot. Hawkes? Ford? Kubrick? Hitchcock? Spielberg? All legends, but Scorsese is undeniably in the same league. And this weekend marks one of the first full gallery shows specifically dedicated to his films.

Spoke Art has taken over New York’s Bold Hype Gallery for Scorsese: An Art Show Tribute, featuring work based on films such as Goodfellas, Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, The Departed, Gangs of New York, Casino and many more. Artists such as Scott Campbell, Joshua Budich, Dave Perillo, Fernando Reza, Jayson Weidel, Jessica Deahl, Jon Smith, New Flesh, Paul Shipper, Rhys Cooper, Rich Pellegrino and Sam Smith have all contributed to the show, which is open Friday April 19 through Sunday April 21.
