In case you forgot, everyone’s least-favorite Defender is getting a second season! Iron Fist season 2 is currently in pre-production, and Star Trek Into Darkness co-star Alice Eve has just joined the cast. There are no details on Eve’s role yet, but it’s likely at one point she’ll come in contact with Danny Rand and mutter “Ugh, you’re the worst” under her breath.

It’s been nearly two years since the last episode of Black Mirror, Charlie Brooker‘s tech dystopia anthology series, and over three years since the last proper full season aired. Naturally, then, news that Netflix had commissioned 12 more episodes was met with a combination of excitement and trepidation.
On the one hand, Black Mirror is second to none when it comes to chronicling the way humanity and technology intersect in 2016. On the other, we’ve seen tons of shows renewed after extended hiatuses, only to return as shells of their former selves. Could the third season of Black Mirror live up to the greatness of the first two? Based on the two episodes that screened at TIFF, “San Junipero” and “Nosedive,” the answer seems to be yes. Black Mirror may be the most addictive and watchable exercise in misery ever devised. Creator Charlie Brooker‘s twisted science fiction anthology series received acclaim in its native England, but it didn’t become a full-blown phenomenon until its first two seasons arrived on Netflix last year. Naturally, the streaming giant promptly picked the show up, ordering a third season consisting of 12 brand new episodes.
While Netflix is keeping the details of the new season under lock and key, we now know that at least one of the episodes will be a bit of a star-studded affair. Director Joe Wright has signed on to helm an episode and he’s bringing Bryce Dallas Howard and Alice Eve with him.

Anthony Hopkins and Al Pacino have both been acting steadily since the 1960s, starring in some of the most iconic films of all time and winning an Oscar each along the way. But somehow, they’ve never actually shared the screen until Misconduct.
Directed by Shintaro Shimosawa (Fox’s The Following), the thriller stars the two titans as corporate rivals. Hopkins is a corrupt pharmaceutical executive, while Pacino is a senior partner at a high-profile firm. Josh Duhamel is the lawyer who gets caught in the middle, and finds himself trapped in a web of lies and intrigue. Watch the first Misconduct trailer after the jump. Read More »

Chris Evans put down his shield for a while in December 2013 to direct his first feature, and you can now see the results of his efforts via the Before We Go trailer. The film stars Evans and Alice Eve as a pair of people who come together in Manhattan when Eve’s character deals with the theft of her purse, and nice guy Chris Evans comes gently to the rescue.
You might wonder if romance blossoms between the two, and given that the stars are Eve and Evans, you probably don’t even need to watch the trailer to figure that out. If you’re eager to see what Evans does when he’s not suited up as Captain America, check out the Before We Go trailer below. Read More »

There are some movie romances which are so swooningly sweet, they can make even the most jaded pragmatist believe in true love. And then there are movie romances so acrid, they can inspire even a happily coupled-up moviegoer to swear off love forever.
Some Velvet Morning seems to fall into the latter category, which shouldn’t come as a huge shock seeing as it was written and directed by In the Company of Men helmer Neil LaBute. Stanley Tucci and Alice Eve play two former lovers who come back into contact when he shows up on her doorstep years after their affair ended, declaring that he’s finally left his wife for her. In the event that Bryan Cranston‘s character in Breaking Bad has too much of a chance to earn your sympathy and you’d rather see him play pure evil, check out this trailer for Cold Comes the Night. Cranston plays a Russian gangster looking for some money that fell into the hands of Alice Eve, and he promises (in a very entertaining Russian accent) to put a bullet in her daughter’s ear if she doesn’t comply.
