Paramount Pictures - A Quiet Place Part II and Top Gun: Maverick Delayed

Now that Warner Bros. Pictures has pushed Tenet back to an unknown release date, Paramount Pictures is delaying some of their biggest movies scheduled for release later this year and bumping them back into 2021.

A Quiet Place Part II and Top Gun: Maverick, two anticipated sequels that would have already been in theaters by now but were delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic shutting down movie theaters, are both being delayed until next year. That’s also resulted in a shift for the return of the Jackass franchise. Paramount has also beefed up their schedule for the next couple years with dates for Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and the animated movies Under the Boardwalk and The Tiger’s Apprentice. Read More »

The lords and ladies of the mysterious MPAA have emerged from their castle on high to peer down and toss a pair of ratings to two upcoming movies. (I’m pretty sure that’s how the rating system works. John Krasinski‘s A Quiet Place was an unexpected surprise in 2018, and the masterful way it weaponized sound in a story about a family trying to survive in an alien-infested America resulted in one of the most nail-biting movie experiences of the year. Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta), who was set to star in director John Krasinski‘s upcoming sequel alongside returning cast members Emily Blunt, Noah Jupe, and Millicent Simmonds, has left the production due to scheduling conflicts. Djimon Hounsou (Shazam!, Amistad) will take his place.
