Robert Rodriguez is taking From Dusk Till Dawn to television with a new series that expands upon his original film (in addition to remaking it), with Zane Holtz and D.J. Cotrona playing as Richie Gecko and Seth Gecko. To promote the show the publicity team is embracing the old-school lobby card concept, with the release of a bunch of new photos dressed up in the old lobby card style. At the end of last week we saw the first official still image from From Dusk Till Dawn — that’s the new TV series that remakes and expands the film by Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino. Now we’ve got the first trailer for the series, which also comes from Rodriguez. It stars D.J. Cotrona and Zane Holtz as criminal brothers Seth and Richie Gecko, who run across vampires such as the one above, played by Eiza Gonzalez. (She’s got the role once played by Salma Hayek.)
The show also features Don Johnson, Wilmer Valderrama and Robert Patrick as it presents the “novel version” (in Rodriguez’s words) of the short story originally plotted out in the film. See the trailer below. Read More »

Robert Rodriguez is a prime partner in the new El Rey Network, which is the new “genre-busting cable network” aimed at the Latino audience, and we’ve known that one of the cornerstones of the El Rey programming would be a new From Dusk Till Dawn series. Joe: Retaliation) as Seth Gecko, Zane Holtz (The Perks of Being a Wallflower) as Richie Gecko, Jesse Garcia (Sons of Anarchy) as new character Texas Ranger Freddie Gonzalez, and Don Johnson (Django Unchained, Miami Vice) as Sheriff Earl McGraw.
