Picard Season 2 Whoopi Goldberg

Star Trek: Picard brings back not just Patrick Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard, but several other familiar Trek characters as well. One character who isn’t back, though: Guinan, the bartender played by Whoopi Goldberg. But that’ll change for Picard season 2. Stewart was recently a guest on Goldberg’s show The View, and he used the opportunity to officially invite Goldberg to join Picard season 2. You’ll never believe what she said next! (She said yes.)

And now, an update to the Sister Act 3 saga that I know you’ve all been following closely these last few years. Back in 2015, a Sister Act remake was announced. Later, it was revealed this remake would be Sister Act 3, and that original star Whoopi Goldberg would have a cameo. Now, Disney is moving forward with Sister Act 3 for their streaming service Disney+, and Whoopi Goldberg is not involved. Holy Mary, Mother of God, what’s going on here?

The Lion King - Behind the Scenes

(The Morning Watch is a recurring feature that highlights a handful of noteworthy videos from around the web. They could be video essays, fanmade productions, featurettes, short films, hilarious sketches, or just anything that has to do with our favorite movies and TV shows.)

In this edition, a new featurette from the upcoming Signature Edition of The Lion King on home video shows off never-before-seen footage of the voice actors from the 1994 modern classic recording their lines, including Jeremy Irons doing a rendition of “Be Prepared.” There’s also a recap of the first season of Westworld in six minutes by series co-star Jimmi Simpson and a strange but real parody of Twin Peaks that was shown during a recent episode of WWE Smackdown. ‘Sister Act’ Remake In the Works At Disney

Sister Act Remake

Imagine we’re inside a secret Hollywood office building. “Okay, so we’ve got The Fugitive, The Craft and Big Trouble in Little China remakes on the way. What’s next on the list?” “Um, let me see….Sister Act.” “Wait, we’re going to remake Sister Act? Do people even remember Sister Act?” “No, they mostly remember Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit because it’s never not on TV, but hey, we’re out of ideas and it’s next on the list.” “Okay – tell Disney it’s their turn.”

Yes, Disney is working on a remake to Sister Act. Read more below. Read More »

Whoopi Goldberg

One of the more interesting aspects of Jonathan Liebesman‘s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has been the rather eclectic casting. Sure, hiring Megan Fox as April O’Neil was a fairly obvious choice, considering her connection to producer Michael Bay. But Will Arnett was a fun pick to play April’s cameraman and rival Vernon Fenwick, and Danny Woodburn and William Fichtner were intriguing additions as well.

The latest star to join the cast was Whoopi Goldberg, another pretty unexpected name. It wasn’t immediately obvious whom she’d be playing, but we now have word that her character will also be connected to the Channel 6 News team. Hit the jump to find out who she is.

‘A Little Bit Of Heaven’ Trailer

The Weinstein Co has released an early international teaser trailer for A Little Bit of Heaven, a romantic dramedy from director Nicole Kassell (The Woodsman, The Closer, Cold Case). The film stars Kate Hudson as “a guarded woman who finds out she’s dying of cancer, but when she meets her match, the threat of falling in love is scarier than death.” The film co-stars Gael García Bernal, Romany Malco, Kathy Bates, Whoopi Goldberg, Lucy Punch, Rosemarie DeWitt, Steven Weber, and Johann Urb. Looks too generic and by the numbers for me, and the musical selections used in the trailer are beyond horrible. Watch the trailer embedded after the jump.
