In the theme park wars, intellectual property reigns supreme. Universal Studios changed the game by incorporating The Wizarding World of Harry Potter into its parks, but with Disney’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge poised to open next year, the rivalry is about to be taken to the next level.
Universal is going to have to implement some flashy new changes to lure guests over from a galaxy far, far away, and now a new rumor says that instead of creating one Nintendo Land in the United States, they’re going to split that intellectual property across multiple parks – and more specifically, a Zelda land is coming to Universal’s Islands of Adventure in Florida.

It’ll be a while before we head back to the small town of Hawkins, Indiana for Stranger Things 3, but guests at Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights will be able to step into a recreation of the Upside Down in just a couple of weeks in the theme park’s brand new Stranger Things mazes.

Last year, director Michael Dougherty‘s 2007 Halloween classic Trick ‘r Treat served as the inspiration for one of the scare zones at Halloween Horror Nights in Universal Studios Orlando. The lesson of every film in the Jurassic Park franchise, up to and including this summer’s Jurassic World, is “Don’t mess with dinosaurs.” But clearly, the folks at Universal Orlando Resort still haven’t gotten the message.

It’s not often that Muggles get bragging rights over wizards, but today is one of those rare days. Universal Orlando has just announced that The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is now serving hot butterbeer, in addition to their regular offerings of cold and frozen butterbeer.

Tuesday, Universal Studios Orlando opened the vault of secrets on their new ride, Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts. We saw concept art, heard about the story, read that Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint are all reprising their roles and Peter even interviewed the art director.
