We’ve spent three seasons watching four not-so-great people learning to be good, but sometimes it’s just so fun to be bad. At least, there’s a lot of comedy to be mined out of the ridiculously evil, as The Good Place fans have delighted to learn every time Marc Evan Jackson‘s Shawn has appeared onscreen. As we learned over the summer, The Good Place is coming to an end with the upcoming fourth season. Thankfully, the show wasn’t canceled by NBC, but creator Michael Schur just thought now was the best time to finish the story on his own terms. We haven’t seen any new footage from the show’s final season, but thankfully, that changed today.

We were lucky to have this show, and to honor the series’ impending send-off, The Paley Center for Media and NBC have teamed for The Good Place one-hour special, which will air on the network next month.

The summer 2019 Television Critics Association press tour ended with a final panel for the fourth season of The Good Place on NBC. Good Place fans were sad when Mike Schur announced at an FYC panel earlier this summer that the fourth season would be the last. The Good Place cast had a love-fest at Comic-Con with fans saying emotional goodbyes.
Many of the plans for the final season have been discussed through Schur’s final season interviews and all the panels and interviews the cast has done. However, Schur addressed one new angle on The Good Place during the TCA panel. Here’s how his goal for the show (spoiler warning for the first three seasons), and therefore the finale, changed while Schur was writing The Good Place.

It’s almost time to honor the finest achievements in television again. The 71st Primetime Emmy Awards will air this fall, but before that, we need to know who has been nominated for the most coveted awards in television. Covering drama, comedy, variety, reality, animation and more, the Emmys honor the best in television and streaming, and this year is full of a wide spectrum of nominees from network, cable, and various streaming services.
The big news is Game of Thrones finished its television run with a record-setting 32 nominations this year, the most for any program in a single season, beating the previous record set by NYPD Blue. Meanwhile, on the comedy side of things, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel landed 20 nominations, and in the limited series category, Chernobyl made a big showing with 19 total nominations.

Mike Schur has given us comedy magic on NBC for years. From The Office to Parks and Recreation, he’s been a network staple that has brought endless laughs and touching moments to the small screen.
