Todd Phillips‘s origin movie about Gotham City’s Clown Prince of Crime now has an official title: Joker. Looks like the film took Sean Parker’s advice and dropped the “the.” (It’s cleaner.) They’re moving quickly on this one, because Joker, which stars Joaquin Phoenix, is coming to theaters next year.

Meanwhile, the wait to see Quentin Tarantino‘s new movie just got a couple of weeks shorter. Sony Pictures has shifted some release dates around on its calendar, and the result is a new Once Upon a Time in Hollywood release date, the long-delayed adaptation of The Crow biting the dust for seemingly the hundredth time, and some other additions that fans of Little Women and the Valiant comic Bloodshot might be interested to learn about. The most recent iteration of The Crow remake went down in flames yesterday when director Corin Hardy and star Jason Momoa walked away from the movie a few weeks before shooting was set to begin. Now, Momoa has shared a piece of concept art and a tiny sliver of a look at him wearing the character’s iconic makeup. Will The Crow remake see the light of day anytime soon? The project has been a revolving door for talent over the years. Some good actors – Bradley CooperJack Huston, and Luke Evans – have been enticed to star in the film before departing. Right now, Jason Momoa (Justice League) and director Corin Hardy (The Hallow) are on board, but the director is about to go off and shoot The Conjuring 2 spinoff, The Nun. The promising filmmaker left the project, only to later return to it.

News has been quiet on The Crow recently, but the re-adaptation’s executive producer and former director, F. Javier Gutiérrez (Rings), who hasn’t heard much about The Crow Reborn (the current title) recently, says they’re developing an R-rated film.
