Nature is healing – movies are returning to theaters. Okay, nature isn’t actually healing, and there’s still the very real threat of the coronavirus out there. But Hollywood is eager to get back to normal, and they’re putting all their hopes and dreams into the month of July. July will mark the first time we’ve had new big studio movies in non-drive-in theaters since March, and while Tenet is the title everyone keeps mentioning, there are a few other films arriving before the latest Christopher Nolan blockbuster. One of those films is the rom-com The Broken Hearts Gallery, and you can see a trailer for that below.

The release-date shuffle continues! At one point, Christopher Nolan’s Tenet had July 17 locked-down as a release date, with everyone and their mother trying to tout the film as the big movie theater comeback event of the summer. Then Warner Bros. moved Tenet to July 31, along with shuffling several other titles to later dates. Now that July 17 is free game, other studios are taking their chances: A24 has moved the delayed Saint Maud to that date, and Sony has done the same with their rom-com The Broken Hearts Gallery. The big question is: will anyone go see them with the coronavirus still lurking around?

Everyone wants to be first. When it comes to re-opening movie theaters this summer, Warner Bros. has been hogging most of the limelight, with Tenet still poised to open on July 17. But Tenet isn’t going to be the first new movie this summer. There’s the Russell Crowe movie Unhinged, which is set for a limited release on July 1. And now Sony is throwing their hat into the ring with Broken Hearts Gallery, a film they’re now branding as “the first major studio wide release of the summer.”
