Swamp Thing trailer

The comic book character Swamp Thing hasn’t appeared in film or television in a significant way since the 1990s, but that’s about to change when he gets his own live-action series on the DC Universe streaming service this summer.

We caught a quick glimpse of the character in a brief teaser last week, but now there’s a full trailer for the upcoming show that leans into the horror angle and capitalizes on the fact that James Wan (The Conjuring, Insidious) is executive producing the series. Check it out below.

Earlier today, word broke that there was trouble in the world of the Swamp Thing TV series being made for DC Universe. The show’s shooting schedule was unexpectedly slashed, resulting in cast and crew being sent home. Then we learned the show’s original 13-episode order was shortened to 10. And then we got word of creative differences plaguing the production. Perhaps in an attempt at damage control, a new Swamp Thing TV series teaser has arrived. Watch it below.

Earlier today, we reported that Swamp Thing wrapped production early due to “creative differences,” with a truncated 10-episode season set to debut on the DC Universe streaming at the end of May. Entire DC Comics Library on DC Universe

WonderCon is happening over in Anaheim, California right now, and the DC Universe subscription service delivered some good news to fans with big announcements about the continued expansion of what’s available for $7.99 a month.

Starting in April, DC Universe will make the entire DC Comics digital library available to subscribers. Until now, the selection has been disappointing, but this alone is worth the price of the subscription. And that’s not all. DC Universe also announced a release date for their upcoming Swamp Thing series, gave a first look at Stargirl, and revealed when the second season of Titans and the rest of Young Justice: Outsiders will arrive.
