A couple days ago we showed you the extended train fight sequence from Spider-Man 2.1, which hits store shelves next week. Now we have yet another look at more cut footage. Below you can watch a short clip of Daily Bugle editor-in-chief J. Jonah Jameson having fun in Spider-Man’s suit. Pretty funny stuff. You can definitely see why the scene was cut from the final film, it was probably too over the top funny for the context of the rest of the movie. Also, J.K. Simmons’ head looks very odd on-top of Spider-Man’s body. I wonder how it will play now that it has been added to the extended cut.
Forget about Spider-Man 3, Spider-Man 2.1 hits DVD shelves next week. The extended cut of the best superhero film ever made features a whole eight minutes of new footage. Check out the clip below, an extended cut of the train fight sequence. It definitely packs a few extra punches.
When Spider-Man 2 was released in theaters, Sam Raimi promised a “directors cut” DVD release. Well now we’re finally getting it. Titled Spider-Man 2.1, the movie features 8 minutes of additional footage to nearly 25 scenes. Check out the trailer below.
I know I’m definitely going to pick this one up. Spider-Man 2 is the best comic book movie of all time in my opinion. It will be interesting to see if the additional scenes add or distract from the theatrical release, because it could go either way. I’m actually in the camp that HATES the Donnie Darko directors cut, but LOVES the theatrical release. So you can ruin a good thing.
Spider-Man 2.1 hits DVD store Shelves on April 17th 2007.
