2019’s Shazam!, directed by David F. Sandberg, gave a whole new meaning to the idea that superheroes are for kids. Premised on the concept of a young Billy Batson (Asher Angel) receiving the power of the Old Gods whenever he says the word “Shazam” and transforming into Zachary Levi’s Shazam, the DCEU origin movie tapped into the power fantasies of superhero-loving kids everywhere.

The latest set pictures taken during the filming of the sequel Shazam! Fury of the Gods!, however, suggest that superheroics are still a pretty dangerous game. Check out the photo below.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods, the sequel to director David F. Sandberg‘s crowd-pleasing 2019 DC superhero movie Shazam!, has been filming since last month. And now, Sandberg is doing his best to make sure leaked set photos are not the way fans catch their best glimpses of this movie. He recently shared a video of star Zachary Levi in a new version of his superhero suit, but that video was purposefully dark. Shazam 2 cast updated

Rachel Zegler might soon become a household name. The previously unknown actress was plucked from obscurity to star as Maria in Steven Spielberg’s remake of West Side Story, and now she’s joining the DC Extended Universe as well.

A new report says Zegler has been hired to play a “key role” in the upcoming sequel Shazam: Fury of the Gods, making her the latest member of the Shazam 2 cast.
