Superintelligence Featurette

Just last week, the underwhelming first trailer for Melissa McCarthy‘s new comedy Superintelligence arrived with a whimper. The movie from director Ben Falcone was intended to be released in theaters in December 2019, but it has now been relegated to a release on HBO Max during Thanksgiving weekend. Perhaps that’s because the movie looks like a strange mesh of sci-fi and romance that doesn’t make much sense, and not even a new Superintelligence featurette can sell it properly. Read More »

Office Christmas Party Trailer

While many are looking ahead a couple weeks to the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in just two weeks, some may be looking forward to getting absolutey crazy with a raunchy, R-rated holiday comedy, and Office Christmas Party will try to come through next week.

A new trailer for the comedy from Blades of Glory directors Josh Gordon and Will Speck has just arrived, and while it shows more of the party shenanigans that happen in an office in downtown Chicago, it also shows more of the outside happenings, including Jennifer Aniston assaulting some guy, and Karan Soni (the cab driver from Deadpool) trying to get a hooker from Jillian Bell (22 Jump Street).

Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates trailer

One of the recurring themes of 2016 is going to be Zac Efron, comedy star. The High School Musical alum has not one, not two, but three separate comedies coming out this year. The first, Dirty Grandpa, has already come and gone, and this summer brings Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising and Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates.

Efron leads the latter as the titular Dave, while Adam DeVine plays Mike. As the title suggests, the Stangle brothers need wedding dates. Their hard-partying ways have ruined every family gathering, and their dad (Stephen Root) figures a couple of sweet girls will help keep them in line at their sister’s wedding. They end up with Tatiana (Aubrey Plaza) and Alice (Anna Kendrick), who turn out to be much, much more than they bargained for.
