With Snatched hitting theaters this past weekend, studios threw out new trailers for some of their upcoming comedies that are being geared towards female audiences. Rough Night debuted a new trailer last week, and now a new trailer for what could easily be a companion comedy has arrived.
Girls Night follows Regina Hall (About Last Night), Queen Latifah (Chicago), Jada Pinkett Smith (Bad Moms) and Tiffany Haddish (Keanu) as four longtime friends who get together for a weekend getaway down in New Orleans for the Essence Festival. However, unlike Rough Night, there doesn’t seem to be a dead body involved, though there are definitely some drugs, raunchy humor and plenty of bonding.

Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Tiffany Haddish are planning a party vacation to remember in Girls Trip, and you know what that means: things are about to go hilariously, horribly awry. For the last few years, one of the highlights of the Academy Awards night has been what comes after the Academy Awards. Namely, Jimmy Kimmel‘s post-Oscar spoof of Hollywood filmmaking at its grandest. This year was no exception.
After knocking it out of the park two years in a row with Movie: The Movie and its inevitable sequel, he switched gears this year to bring us highfalutin Oscar bait trailers starring the likes of Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Ben Kingsley… based on the likes of YouTube classics “David After Dentist,” “Keyboard Cat,” and “Charlie Bit My Finger.” Check ’em all out after the jump.

In the decade or so since the start of Fox’s Ice Age series, the franchise has pulled in a range of high-profile stars including Jack Black, Will Arnett, Jay Leno, and Simon Pegg to compliment its central quartet of Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, and Chris Wedge.
This time around, for Steve Martino and Michael Thurmeier‘s Ice Age: Continental Drift, the core characters are joined by the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Nick Frost, Rebel Wilson, Aziz Ansari, Josh Gad, Peter Dinklage, and more. It’s a very solid cast, but is the project worthy of their talents? Watch the first trailer after the jump and decide for yourself. Read More »
Since the run-up to the release of Blue Sky Studios’ Ice Age in 2002, the best spokesman — spokesanimal? — for the film series has been a creature that can barely speak. The acorn-obsessed Scrat, a sabre-toothed squirrel, has starred in trailers and shorts and is one of the most consistently entertaining parts of the actual films. With the latest film in the series, Ice Age: Continental Drift, hitting theaters in July 2012, Fox and Blue Sky are way ahead of the curve in getting the word out. The first part of the short Scrat’s Continental Crack-Up showed up way back in January of this year, and now we’ve got the conclusion. Check it out below. Read More »
Cool Posts From Around the Web:
Sometimes there’s no way to make a casting roundup conform to any sort of sense. Such is the case here, as we’ve got info on a wild reality-based political thriller set in 1979, an animated sequel, and an indie family drama with a very unlikely cast. In other words, after the break you’ll find info on:
- Monsters star Scoot McNairy joining Ben Affleck’s Argo,
- Nick Frost and seven hundred other actors doing voices for the fourth theatrical Ice Age movie,
- and an indie called Little Boy, which has Kevin James and Emily Watson set to star.

As if Jeremy Renner doesn’t have enough stuff to do. But hell, the big steaming pile of sequels to the Ice Age films should help someone, so why not a handful of actors? (And animators and loads of technicians, which is also a good thing.) DreamWorks is setting the voice cast for the fourth Ice Age movie, aka Ice Age: Continental Drift (not an educational film, so don’t worry, kids) and Jeremy Renner is among the new additions.
