This week will bring the first ever Hasbro PulseCon online for fans in the United States and Canada. It’s basically Hasbro’s virtual substitute for the lack of conventions available for them to announce the latest merchandise for properties like Star Wars, Marvel, Transformers, G.I. Joe, Power Rangers, Ghostbusters, Magic: The Gathering, and Dungeons & Dragons. Their latest project is a Magic: The Gathering animated series coming from Netflix, Wizards of The Coast, and Hasbro’s Allspark Animation. The series will tell a whole new story set in the world of the wildly popular collectible and digital collectible card game.

Six months after announcing development of a movie based on the popular card game Magic the Gathering, the project has picked up a writer. The popular role-playing card game Magic: The Gathering has been on Hollywood’s wish list for years. Universal owned the rights for a while, along with a few other Hasbro properties, but ultimately let them go. Now 20th Century Fox has played the cash card to acquire the rights to the fantasy franchise. The inhumanly busy Simon Kinberg is attached to produce and oversee the films.  Read More »
