The Magic Order

When famed comic book writer Mark Millar sold his Millarworld company to Netflix back in 2017, the plan was for him to develop new properties that could work as both comics and potential film or TV shows. The streaming service announced last year that several adaptations were coming soon, and now another adaptation is one step closer to reality.

James Wan (Aquaman, Saw) will direct the pilot episode of The Magic Order, based on an original comic that Millar wrote and Netflix published last year. fast and furious female spin-off writers

The Fast and Furious female spin-off appears to be on the fast track, as Vin Diesel has just announced the writing team that will bring the film to life. Nicole Perlman, Lindsey Beer, and Geneva Robertson-Dworet will pen the script, which will likely focus on Michelle Rodriguez‘s Letty and presumably other female characters from the mega-franchise.

Transformers writers

A week after controversy hit the Internet about a lack of diversity in developing the Transformers movie franchise, Paramount has hired two new writers. They are Christina Hodson and Lindsey Beer, the first two female writers in a group that includes Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead), Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (Iron Man), Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari (Ant-Man), Zak Penn (Ready Player One) and Jeff Pinkner (Lost). It’s lead by Akiva Goldsman and their aim is to have a fifth film ready to go when Michael Bay finishes his current movie, then multiple Transformers films lined up to be made after.
