Netflix purchased comic book writer Mark Millar‘s Millarworld company last year, and they’ve already teamed up to release the streaming service’s first comic book, The Magic Order. But Netflix didn’t buy Millar’s company solely to make comic books: they’re in it for that sweet, sweet intellectual property.
The first batch of Millarworld movies and TV shows was announced this morning, and they include movie adaptations of Empress, Huck, and Sharkey the Bounty Hunter and TV series based on American Jesus and Jupiter’s Legacy. Read more about each of these new Mark Millar Netflix projects below.

Chrononauts, Starlight, American Jesus, Super Crooks, Empress: The list of in-development adaptations of Mark Millar‘s work goes on and on. Hollywood just can’t get enough of the comic book writer behind Wanted and Kick-Ass. A year ago, it was reported an adaptation of another one of Millar’s properties, Jupiter’s Legacy, was in the works, with a little help from powerhouse producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Transformers). Now Bonaventura and all involved have tapped cousins and screenwriters Brian and Mark Gunn to pen the adaptation.

Another week, another Mark Millar property being turned into a movie. Fresh off the huge success of Kingsman: The Secret Service, the comic book writer behind Kick-Ass, Wanted and Nemesis has teamed with producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura to work on a movie version of Jupiter’s Legacy.
