Judge Dredd Still Image

This is the week that officially killed all of those sequels the internet has been demanding. With Hellboy 3 officially thrown to the wayside in favor of an R-rated reboot, it only makes sense that the Dredd sequel is also looking officially dead and buried. However, fans of the character may take comfort in knowing that the hard-ass future cop with that face-obscuring helmet and a thirst for justice/violence is only abandoning the big screen because he’s heading to the small screen.

Yes, a Judge Dredd live-action TV show is in the works.

Sci-Scapes - Sci-Fi Crossover Poster

For any sci-fi fan, it would be a dream come true to find a place where the characters from all your favorite sci-fi movies and TV shows existed in the same world. But unless we figure out how to travel to a parallel dimension where all those character that have been imagined over the years are real, we’ll have to settle for this new print from the Hero Complex Gallery show Sci-Scapes.

Artists Josan Gonzalez and Laurie Greasley created this insanely detailed piece of work that feels like a sci-fi version of Where’s Waldo. But rather than looking for the bespectacled, red and white striped sweater wearing explorer, you can just look at any part of this image and find someone or something from RoboCop, Total Recall, Akira, Alien, Stranger Things, Blade Runner, Predator and much more.

Predator vs Judge Dredd vs Aliens

Since we’re unlikely to get a sequel to the 2012 sci-fi comic adaptation Dredd starring Karl Urban, we’ll have to take solace in a new Dark Horse Comics title featuring the one-man judge, jury and executioner. In a new four-issue series, we’ll see Judge Dredd crossing over with two of the biggest sci-fi franchises that he’s encountered before.

Predator vs. Judge Dredd vs. Aliens will see Judge Dredd pitted against the tactical, nearly unbeatable Predators, as they both try to survive an onslaught by the galaxy’s ultimate killing machines, the xenomorphs from the Alien franchise. For those who don’t know, this isn’t the first time Judge Dredd has met either of these creatures. Find out more about Predator vs Judge Dredd vs Aliens after the jump. Read More »

Dredd 3D

If Dredd‘s tragically weak box office performance didn’t squash all hopes of a sequel, Adi Shankar‘s recent comments should have. The producer bluntly stated that the sci-fi pic would “probably not” get a follow up because it “totally bombed.” Considering that the film made grossed just $35 million worldwide on a $50 million budget, it was tough to argue with his reasoning.

But now that Dredd has found a little more success on home video, star Karl Urban seems to be feeling much more optimistic. According to him, a Dredd sequel is “not off the agenda” — but it’ll only happen if the fans fight for it. Hit the jump to read his comments.
