Gemini Man has found its female lead. Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who recently delivered fantastic back-to-back performances with 2016’s 10 Cloverfield Lane and last year’s season of Fargo, has joined Ang Lee‘s science-fiction thriller.
And on the production side, Gemini Man has landed John Wick: Chapter 2 stunt coordinator J.J. Perry. Even though the film will be heavily reliant on de-aging technology for star Will Smith to play the dual roles of an aging assassin and his younger clone, it seems like Lee will be combining cutting-edge tech with visceral action choreography.

One of the most enthralling parts of John Wick is its sleek, nearly balletic fight choreography. So it’s fitting that the John Wick spin-off could be called Ballerina.
Lionsgate is planning to develop a female-led action film titled Ballerina into a spin-off in the expanding John Wick universe, which first earned a cult following in 2014, and now has gone on to spawn a sequel, a comic book, and an upcoming television series.

Though it feels like much more time has passed it was just earlier this year that Keanu Reeves returned as the notorious hit man that everybody should be scared of in John Wick: Chapter 2. The sequel was not only on par with its surprise hit predecessor, but it managed to up the ante on the action front and even expand the mythology of the world in which it exists in a rather interesting way, not to mention leaving the door open for a sequel that we can’t wait to see.
Since John Wick is out for blood again, this time with an obligation brought forth to him by another hit man, there’s a pretty serious body count this time around, around 50% higher than the first film. If you haven’t had the time to rewatch John Wick: Chapter 2 lately, a new kill count video assembles all of death delivered at the hands of Keanu Reeves.

This weekend, John Wick stormed back into theaters, and with an estimated $30 million and some change raked in for its opening weekend, John Wick: Chapter 2 has more than double the opening weekend of its predecessor. That just goes to show you how the audiences has grown since the first film, something that usually doesn’t happen with sequels like this.
Along with a higher box office, Keanu Reeves also took out even more bad guys this time. The original movie gave John Wick a kill count of 84, as confirmed by co-director David Leitch, but the John Wick 2 kill count increased that by about 50%, proving why you don’t stab the devil in the back. While the Super Bowl may be mostly geared toward a male audience, that doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of women watching the big game today. Some might even be expecting a special glimpse at Fifty Shades Darker since the erotic, romantic thriller sequel arrives this week. And Lionsgate took full advantage of that with their latest tease for something that’s much different.
John Wick: Chapter 2 debuted a Super Bowl spot during the pre-game coverage today, and it starts off with a tease that feels like it could be introducing a Fifty Shades Darker spot. But then it quickly takes a turn with plenty of gunfire and some hard-hitting action, making it look like John Wick is taking just as much of a beating (albeit a completely different kind) as Dakota Johnson did from Christian Grey.

Ensuring that there will be at least one great action movie this year, John Wick: Chapter 2 is hitting theaters in about a month. Keanu Reeves is back as the titular assassin, and he looks even deadlier this time.
A new John Wick 2 TV spot has arrived online, featuring a couple awesome new moments of action, including a sequence that takes place in a room full of mirrors, and a chase that doesn’t end so well for one motorcyclist. As Ian McShane cautions to a soon-to-be-dead bad guy, “You stabbed the devil in the back, and now he’s coming again.” So Keanu Reeves will really be the devil this time, instead of The Devil’s Advocate.

John Wick: Chapter 2 brings Keanu Reeves back for more deadly assassin action, but this time around he’ll find himself facing whole new dangers in whole new settings. A couple of new John Wick: Chapter 2 photos reveal just what that might look like.
In one, Reeves’ John Wick makes his way down a crowded city street in a sharp suit that’s looking a little less sharp after a long day of, presumably, beating people up. The other spotlights the new villains played by Riccardo Scamarcio and Ruby Rose, also sporting killer suits. Say what you will about the morality of murdering people for a living, but these characters all look damn good doing it. Check ’em out below. Read More »
