Even though it may not be the best time for a conspiracy thriller about a viral pandemic, Amazon’s new series Utopia is going to give it a shot this fall.
Utopia follows a group of nerds obsessed with a comic book called Distopia and the arrival of its sequel Utopia. While the comic is just an engaging story for most fans, others think it has been hiding clues to some kind of impending disaster, and may be the key to uncovering a global conspiracy. It all becomes very real when these comic nerds suddenly find themselves on the run from trained killers and get caught up in something bigger and more dangerous than they could possibly fathom. See what happens in the new Utopia trailer below. Read More »

Valley Girl, the 1983 teen rom-com that starred Deborah Foreman as a rich girl from the Valley, and Nicolas Cage as the punk from Hollywood she falls in love with, now has itself a musical remake arriving this month. The film’s plot remains mostly the same – it’s even still set in the ’80s. But this time there are songs. And dance numbers, too, choreographed by none other than Mandy Moore. There’s a new Valley Girl clip online, and, oddly enough, it’s song-free. But it does have plenty of bright pastel ’80s colors for your eyeballs.

Valley Girl is a 1983 romantic comedy starring Julie Richman as the title character, who has good looks, popularity, and a handsome, cool boyfriend. The only problem is Tommy is kind of a douchebag, so after a trip to the mall with her friends, she decides to break up with him and falls for a Hollywood punk named Randy, making for a star-crossed lovers kind of story loosely inspired by Romeo and Juliet. Now the movie is being remade as a poppy musical starring Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day), and a new Valley Girl music video shows us just how upbeat and vibrant this remake will be. Read More »
Hey kids, do you remember Valley Girl? It was a teen rom-com from 1983, starring Deborah Foreman as a rich girl from the Valley, and Nicolas Cage as the punk from Hollywood she falls in love with. It was a big hit on its meager budget, and even scored positive reviews – although I’m not sure how much of a “classic” it’s regarded as these days. In any case, someone went ahead and remade it, and turned it into a jukebox musical, to boot. Best of all, the new Valley Girl has Jessica Rothe, the fantastic lead of the Happy Death Day films, as the titular Valley girl. Check out the trailer below.

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before. An unlucky person finds themselves living the same day, over and over again, in a continual loop. If they happen to die, they have to start the day all over again. And things are exactly the same…except when they aren’t. Sounds pretty familiar, right? It should. It’s the plot of Groundhog Day, but it’s also the plot of several other notable titles: Edge of Tomorrow, the recent Netflix series Russian Doll, and of course, Happy Death Day, the clever slasher flick from 2017.
Now here comes Happy Death Day 2U, a sequel that might not have seemed likely when the credits on Happy Death Day rolled. After all, the person stuck in same day – college student Tree Gelbman – was able to close the loop, and become a better person in the process. Surely Tree couldn’t get stuck in a loop again…right?

The Blumhouse scare machine has pumped out another fright fest: Happy Death Day 2U, the sequel to 2017’s Happy Death Day. That’s bad enough as-is, but to make matters worse, she also kept being murdered over and over again as well. Now, the cycle continues. Watch the Happy Death Day 2U trailer below.
