Jennifer Hudson, Taylor Swift, James Corden, Rebel Wilson, Jason Derulo, Idris Elba, Ray Winstone, Ian McKellen, and Judi Dench are all playing cats in Cats, the movie adaptation of the Broadway sensation Cats, which is about cats. While the stage production employs furry costumes for its feline characters, this new film from Tom Hooper uses digital enhancements to turn its actors into kitties. You can decide for yourself if this is a good or bad idea by watching the first Cats trailer below.

Cats is going to be big. It will either be a big stage-to-screen musical beloved by audiences, or the type of strange train-wreck that we can’t look away from. In either case, I’m excited. The film brings the hit Broadway musical to life in a whole new way, featuring a cast that includes James Corden, Judi Dench, Jason Derulo, Idris Elba, Jennifer Hudson, Ian McKellen, Taylor Swift, and Rebel Wilson as digitally-enhanced cats. We’ll have to wait until Friday to see actual film footage, but a new Cats featurette goes behind-the-scenes to showcase how weird this is going to be.

The trailer for Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg‘s The Interview is pretty insane. In the film, a famous entertainment journalist and his producer get an exclusive interview with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un. Before heading to the interview, the U.S. government asks the guys to assassinate the dictator.
So why the heck would this journalist, out of everyone, get this exclusive interview? Your first clue was on MTV over the weekend as James Franco‘s character, Dave Skylark, hosted a Very Special VMA Special featuring interviews with musicians Iggy Azalea, Jason Derulo and Nicki Minaj. Seth Rogen’s producer character, Aaron, also plays a huge role in the special.
Watching this special, which runs 20 minutes long, you’re sure not only to laugh, but totally get why the North Korean dictator of the film – which opens December 25 – would agree to the Interview. Watch The Interview MTV Special below. Read More »
Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg‘s already controversial film, The Interview, was recently pushed back a few months but we’ll get a nice tease this weekend. Tied into the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards, stars of the film James Franco and Rogen will do a full 30 minute special, in character, interviewing popular musicians Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea and Jason Derulo.
In the film, Franco plays Dave Skylark, the host of a popular entertainment interview show run by producer Aaron Rapoport (Rogen). They’re then granted an exclusive interview with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, and are asked to kill him. There will be no killing on the MTV special, which airs Sunday August 17 at 9 p.m., but you’ll get a sense of the film’s tone and humor. Below, read more info, see more photos and even watch a quick video of The Interview MTV Special. Read More »
