Bad, but predictable, news: Hollywood Horror Nights has been canceled in both Orlando and Hollywood this year. The major haunted house event usually kicks-off in September every year, but things are different this year due to the coronavirus. In two statements, Orlando said they would be “focusing exclusively on operating its theme parks for daytime guests, using the enhanced health and safety procedures already in place,” while Hollywood added that they continue to face “ongoing business restrictions” that leaves opening in doubt.

Halloween Horror Nights Us Maze lupita nyongo

Lupita Nyong’o, good sport that she is, decided to jump back into her red jumpsuit and surprise folks at the Halloween Horror Nights Us maze to reprise her character from the Jordan Peele film. Nyong’o first went through the maze herself, and had the bejesus scared out of her. Then she easily slipped back into character, much to the surprise of other people traveling through the maze. Ghostbusters Aykroyd and Reitman

There’s a Ghostbusters-themed maze at Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights event this year to celebrate the film’s 35th anniversary, and not long ago, there was something strange in that theme park neighborhood: two major players behind the film franchise.

Original Ghostbusters co-writer and star Dan Aykroyd and director Ivan Reitman dropped by to experience the spooks and scares for themselves, and a camera crew came along to capture their reactions. Check it out below.

Halloween Horror Nights Water Show

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios has been adding tons of new attractions to their spooky line-up this year. There are new mazes featuring Jordan Peele’s Us, Rob Zombie’s House of 1,000 Corpses, and the paranormal investigators known as the Ghostbusters. At one point, Rob Zombie‘s nasty horror film House of 1000 Corpses was so controversial that it looked as if it would never be released. Now, more than 10 years later, the movie is being turned into an attraction at two major theme parks. Funny how things change! A new House of 1000 Corpses maze is headed to Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights – a maze that will bring several of the locations from Zombie’s grisly horror movie to life.
