The cast of the new animated take on Scooby-Doo continues to grow, and this time it’s with some familiar child stars playing younger versions of the characters from Mystery Inc.
Scoob is the name of the new animated Scooby-Doo movie, and it already features Zac Efron, Amanda Seyfried, Gina Rodriguez and Will Forte as the voices of Fred, Daphne, Velma and Shaggy respectively. Frank Welker is also reprising his longtime role as Scooby-Doo. The animated Scooby-Doo movie in the works over at Warner Bros. Animation Group is picking up steam as the rest of Mystery Inc. has been cast. Fans of Scooby-Doo were a little shocked when Will Forte stepped up to voice Shaggy, replacing live-action Scooby-Doo movie star Matthew Lillard, who has been voicing the character in cartoons and animated movies since then. Did you forget there was a big screen animated Scooby-Doo movie in development? There’s a good chance you did because it was originall announced all the way back in August of 2015 and was originally slated for release last year. Now the movie will arrive in the summer of 2020, and the voice cast for Mystery Inc. and a surprising character addition have been announced.
The untitled animated Scooby-Doo movie isn’t bringing in all of the usual cartoon voices from any of the previous iterations of the Hanna-Barbera animated series. Instead, Will Forte and Gina Rodriguez will be voicing two of the key members of Mystery Inc. However, there’s also one returning cast member from the original iteration of Scooby-Doo, not to mention a surprising casting and character addition. The field of voice acting is a wholly unique one. In some ways, voice acting can be more difficult than acting on-camera, mostly because so much emotion has to come purely from the voice, without the assistance of facial expressions or body language. Many times it’s the voice that informs how a character is depicted, and that’s why it’s so surprising to learn that the same actors are behind the voices of many different cartoon and video game characters we know and love.

In a posting on the Don Murphy forums , it was revealed that the screenwriting team of Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman might not return for Transformers 3.
“Time for fresh blood!” writes Orci. “The main reason we would move on is because we risk getting stale and comfortable. If you only sing one song for too long, you miss the opportunity to sing news songs. We’ll see.”
Orci also admitted that he has talked with Leonard Nimoy about providing the voice of the Fallen.
