Captain Marvel had no problem winning a second weekend at the box office for Marvel Studios. Following the film’s massive opening weekend haul of $153 million, the latest installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe raked in another $69.3 million at the box office. That’s only a drop of 54.8% in its second weekend, which is slightly better than the average 56% that usually happens with Marvel Studios movies.

Haley Lu Richardson has “up-and-coming movie star” written all over her, from her innate charm to her high-wattage smile, which she puts to excellent use in the sappy star-crossed romance Five Feet Apart. Richardson, who established herself with her impressive work in The Edge of Seventeen, Columbus, and Support The Girls, has an undeniable charisma that ensures her performance here is something truly special. The film surrounding Richardson, unfortunately, ends up being so mawkish and contrived that it’s more likely to elicit groans than tears.

If The Fault in Our Stars warmed your heart and also made you stream crocodile tears, then you’re probably already looking forward to Five Feet Apart. Not unlike the aforementioned adaptation of John Green’s book, this movie follows a 17-year old girl named Stella (Haley Lu Richardson of Split) who is afflicted with cystic fibrosis, keeping her confined to a hospital and unable to make human contact. That becomes all the more challening when she meets a fellow cystic fibrosis patient named Will (Cole Sprouse of Riverdale), who is a bit of a rebel that makes Stella question what she should really be concerned about with life.

The latest is Five Feet Apart, which stars Columbus and Edge of Seventeen‘s Haley Lu Richardson as a girl with cystic fibrosis.
