The self-described golden retriever of a comedian known as Pete Holmes has been riding a new wave of fame recently, but only because he’s playing a regressed version of himself on the HBO series Crashing. That’s okay though, because seeing Pete Holmes tap into his former (and possibly current) insecurities in this personal and hilarious series is truly a gift to audiences.
Now it looks like things are getting simultaneously better and worse for ol’ Petey Pants in the first trailer for the upcoming third season of Crashing, which features a new array of famous comedian guest stars, including Pete’s real-life, longtime friend John Mulaney. Read More »

We didn’t get a new movie from director Judd Apatow this year, and part of the reason for that is because he’s producing a new TV series for HBO as another one is wrapping up. Girls will begin its final season in February, but Judd Apatow will stay comfy at HBO with a new comedy series starring stand-up comedian Pete Holmes.
Crashing follows Pete Holmes playing a version of himself from years ago. The HBO series follows Holmes as an up and coming, naive stand-up comedian in New York City whose seemingly happy life is uprooted when he finds his wife cheating on him. As he tries to get some stage time and recover from his destroyed marriage, he couch surfs across New York City, staying with his various comedian friends played by Holmes’ real-life comedian friends who you’ll definitely recognize in a new trailer for the show.

February will bring a new HBO comedy series to air from comedian Pete Holmes, fresh off his recent stand-up comedy special on the cable network. Inspired by his own trials and tribulations in life as an up-and-coming comic who married young only to end up divorced, Crashing follows a comedian not unlike Holmes himself as couch surfs around New York City, staying with friends and trying to figure out just what the hell to do with his life.
Now a new Crashing trailer has debuted, showing off more of Pete’s comedy struggles, trying to hand out flyers to shows, having odd gaps in his knowledge of pop culture while making obscure references to things like Will Smith rap albums and coming to terms with the fact that he’s actually homeless.

HBO’s current run of original programming is winding down before the end of the year. Westworld, Divorce and Insecure will all have their season finales in the next few weeks, but they’ll all be back with second seasons, presumably around the same time of the year in 2017. That means it’s time to look ahead at HBO’s original programming coming early next year, and that includes the end of one of their hit shows, and the first season for an all-new comedy series.
The final trailer for Lena Dunham‘s hit series Girls has arrived online along with the first trailer for Crashing, the new comedy series starring comedian and former late night host Pete Holmes. Watch them both after the jump. Read More »
Comedy director Judd Apatow already has firm footing at HBO as the executive producer of the network’s hit show Girls from writer, director and star Lena Dunham, and now he’s hoping to add another show to the cable giant’s comedy line-up.
Comedian Pete Holmes, former star of his own TBS late night show, will star in a semi-autobiographical series called Crashing, playing a version of himself. If you’re not acquainted with the comedy of Pete Holmes, I suggest educating yourself immediately.
