One of the best food shows of last year wasn’t really a food show at all. In fact, all of the food on it was stuff you’d never, ever want to eat. But the way Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) expertly crafts his meals and then plates them just so… our stomachs couldn’t help but rumble even as our disgusted brains were screaming “But that meal is made of people!”
Well, with February coming in fast, and the Season 2 premiere of NBC’s Hannibal along with it, it’s time to get used to feeling that cognitive dissonance again. This first teaser should help ease you in. In it, Hannibal prepares yet another elegant-looking recipe, with some very special ingredients. Check it out, along with some new promo art, after the jump.

2013 has already seen the debut of multiple serial-killer TV series, including Fox’s The Following and A&E’s Bates Motel. Yet by all accounts NBC’s Hannibal is the best of the bunch. The Silence of the Lambs prequel series has drawn raves from critics for Mads Mikkelsen and Hugh Dancy‘s performances as Hannibal Lecter and Will Graham, as well as for Bryan Fuller‘s eye for gorgeous, gory detail.
Unfortunately, all of those compliments haven’t translated to very high ratings for the premiere. Which means there’s a good chance, statistically speaking, that you didn’t catch the show last night. Fortunately, NBC has now put the entire pilot episode online for you to enjoy at your leisure. Watch the full-length video after the jump.

What does it take to generate new interest in a property as well-worn as the Hannibal Lecter story sequence from novelist Thomas Harris? For the new TV show Hannibal, in which producer Bryan Fuller charts the early days of the working relationship between FBI profiler Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) and Lecter, a few things are obvious parts of the approach.
The cast is on. In addition to Dancy there’s the attention-getting choice of Mads Mikkelsen (Pusher, Casino Royale) as Lecter, with the addition of Laurence Fishburne, Gina Torres, Gillian Anderson, Eddie Izzard and Ellen Greene, with Caroline Dhavernas and Lance Henriksen.
And then there’s Fuller’s style, which oozes from this first full trailer. His weird American Gothic approach looks very much like a good fit for this story. We’ve seen the Lecter story told exhaustively on film (in Manhunter, The Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal, Hannibal Rising, and the Manhunter remake Red Dragon) but visually, at least, this version seems to go in a new direction. And while the story lends itself to the old procedural format that is so familiar from innumerable TV shows, that visual style helps Hannibal stand out.

Bryan Fuller‘s Munsters reboot Mockingbird Lane didn’t quite work out as planned, but luckily for his fans NBC has another macabre project from him ready to go.
Hannibal follows Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) and Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) in their early days — back before the FBI profiler knew that the famed psychiatrist was actually a cannibalistic killer. Watch the first trailer after the jump.

Universal Pictures have released the first teaser trailer for Devil, which is being dubbed as coming “From The Mind of M Night Shyamalan.” The first released under “The Night Chronicles” banner, Devil is directed by Quarantine helmers the Dowdle Bros from a story by M. Night Shyamalan and script by Brian Nelson. The story reported involves a group of people who are trapped in an elevator, and one of them is the devil. We’ve also been told that the security guard is trying to convince the policeman to get them out of the elevator, and that he is the chosen one to save the people. The trailer uses the wording “One of these five people, is not, who they appear to be.” The film stars Chris Messina, Bojana Novakovic, Bokeem Woodbine, Geoffrey Arend and Caroline Dhavernas.
Watch the teaser trailer after the jump. I really love the up-side-down arial transitions. The trailer seems to give away way too much about the story, as it seems like the type of movie which depends upon the surprises.
