The universe was cruel earlier this year when it took Adam West away from us. The iconic actor, who played The Caped Crusader in the beloved ’60s Batman series, passed away back in June, prompting tributes from the /Film staff and fans spread across Hollywood and the world. But thankfully, we’ll get to see Adam West as Batman one more time.
Before Adam West passed away, there was a Warner Bros. and DC Comics animated movie featuring Adam West and Burt Ward teaming up again as Batman and Robin, reprising their roles from the Batman TV series that began in 1966. It was such a success that a sequel was put into works that would adapt a storyline that was intended for the TV series, but never filmed for a number of reasons. The Dark Knight has been portrayed by multiple actors over the decades. Michael Keaton played him for Tim Burton, Christian Bale played him for Christopher Nolan, and Kevin Conroy brought him to life in cartoon form in Batman: The Animated Series. But for older generations, Batman will always been Adam West, and now he’s reprising the role in a new animated movie.
We first heard about the animated Batman 1966 movie in the spring of 2015 with a plan to bring back the classic versions of Batman and Robin this year, just in time for the TV show’s 50th anniversary. Adam West and Burt Ward are back as Batman and Robin, and the first teaser trailer for the straight-to-DVD animated feature has just arrived online.

Over on Adult Swim, the stop-motion comedy of Robot Chicken has taken on nearly every facet of pop culture, all with the help of action figures. Now the series from Seth Green and Matt Senreich will return to the world of comic books with their third special focusing on the characters of DC Comics.
Robot Chicken DC Comics Special 3: A Magical Friendship is coming in October, and the first trailer for the special premiered at Comic-Con. But now it’s available online for your viewing pleasure, complete with some familiar voices for those who grew up on the classic 1960s version of Batman and Robin.

Here’s your first look at newly remastered footage from the ’60s Batman TV series. This fall, the show comes to Blu-ray, DVD, and digital download for the first time ever, thanks to the resolution of rights conflicts between Fox and Warner Bros. The set packs in 120 episodes, remastered in HD, with a suite of extra features. The set has been dated for November, but you can get a first look at the remastered Batman TV series trailer below, and the footage is as colorful and clear as you’d hope.
