When Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame surpassed James Cameron‘s Avatar as the highest grossing film ever released (unadjusted for inflation), Cameron sent a congratulatory public note to Marvel and Kevin Feige, continuing a tradition of filmmakers like George Lucas and Steven Spielberg sending similar messages to each other through the trades when one of their films would beat the other’s to take the top spot. But it sounds like Cameron eventually expects to receive one in return, because he thinks it’s “a certainty” that Avatar will overtake Endgame at the global box office. Read More »

It’s no surprise that Disney and Marvel made sure that Avengers: Endgame, the highest-grossing movie in modern history, was available to stream on Disney+ on the new service’s first day. But it is actually a bit surprising to see that Disney+ is offering some new special features that didn’t appear on the Blu-ray, including deleted scenes involving an alternate version of the movie’s epic final battle, Tony Stark meeting with an adult version of his daughter (played by Katherine Langford) after his big snap at the end, and more. Not too long ago, Disney put up their awards consideration pages for the films they hope will land some nominations from the Oscars, Golden Globes and other important Hollywood organizations. When it came to Avengers: Endgame, the usual ambition was there for Best Picture, Best Director, and a slew of technical awards. But there was one surprising exclusion.
Robert Downey Jr. previously confirmed that he opted not to campaign for any acting awards for his farewell performance as Tony Stark in Avengers: Endgame. This was surprising to fans since his final turn as the genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist and superhero felt like a performance that may have been worthy of at least a nomination. Cool Posts From Around the Web:
Since the release of Avengers: Endgame, there have been plenty more pieces of toys and collectibles released based on the more spoilery parts of the movie. The beefy new Thor has been given several cool toys and collectibles, and Captain America wielding Mjolnir has too. But one character somehow hasn’t been given a proper action figure
The fully armored version of Thanos was revealed in the main marketing campaign for Avengers: Endgame. But for some reason, every iteration of the figure has had one major problem. They all come with the Infinity Gauntlet from Avengers: Infinity War, not the Iron Gauntlet (or the Nano Gauntlet) from Avengers: Endgame. That’s likely due to avoiding spoilers, but we’re now six months out from the film’s release in theaters, and no one has created a proper Thanos figure with the correct gauntlet. Read More »
