This year marks the 25th anniversary of the family adventure movie Jumanji. Adapted from the 1981 children’s book of the same name by Chris Van Allsburg, the movie features a board game that brings all the dangers of a jungle into the suburbs. Stampedes, mischievous monkeys, deadly spiders, a relentless hunter, and a grown man sucked into the game 20 years before all wreak havoc on the lives of two young orphans. Now you can bring a Jumanji board game replica home to play yourself. Read More »
The line-up of Funko POPs featuring characters from The Mandalorian has been pretty small so far. The titular bounty hunter had two different variations, and back-up came in the form of IG-11, Cara Dune, and Kuiil. But now even more Mandalorians are getting the Funko POP treatment, along with new versions of Mando, fellow bounty hunters like Greef Karga and Q9-Zero, the egg-obsessed offworld Jawas, and even Werner Herzog as The Client. Check out all the new The Mandalorian Funko POPs below. Read More »
The Funko POP collection of film and television directors being turned into collectible vinyl figurines has slowly been growing. But it’s only been full of a bunch of male filmmakers, ranging from Alfred Hitchcock in black and white from the set of Psycho to a tropical Taika Waititi decked out in pink and pineapples. Thankfully, Funko has brought a couple of the more recently influential female filmmakers on the scene into the fray by giving Wonder Woman helmer Patty Jenkins and Selma director Ava DuVernay their own POP figures. Frozen 2 has raked in hundreds of millions of dollars at the box office, but there might be even more money to be made on the merchandise side of the market. Plenty of toys, clothes, lunchboxes, candy and more are being sold with the Frozen brand plastered all over them. But none seem as tacky or ludicrous as a new Frozen 2 doll set that costs $30,000. That’s right, for roughly the price of a college education, you can get Anna, Elsa and Olaf. So why the hell do they cost so much? Find out below. Read More »

Even though the new live-action Star Wars series The Mandalorian follows a singular bounty hunter from the tribe of the same name, we’ve learned there are plenty of other warriors donning the same signature armor. Hot on the heels of receiving a Black Series figure from Hasbro, the character is also joining the Hot Toys line-up. Check out the Heavy Infantry Mandalorian Hot Toys figure below. This is the way. Cool Posts From Around the Web:
During the marketing campaign for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, one of the most shocking moments came at the conclusion of the retrospective “special look” trailer when a dark side version of Rey was shown. One of the things that made her villainous appearance all the more menacing was a new hinged double-bladed lightsaber that allowed her to wield both blades parallel to each other. We’re not sure if that serves a legitimate strategic purpose in battle, but it sure does look cool, and now you can get a Rey’s dark side lightsaber replica to display on your shelf. Read More »
As the final seconds of the premiere episode of The Mandalorian came to a close, you could almost hear the entire Star Wars fandom rise up and declare with one voice, “We want Baby Yoda merchandise!”
Showrunner Jon Favreau has talked about how Disney let him keep a lot of the toy companies in the dark to avoid information about the little Yoda-esque character leaking out before the show debuted, but it seems like Disney isn’t going to let the holiday season come and go without offering at least some Baby Yoda merch for the diehard fans who can’t get enough of the little green alien. Some merchandise is already available, but a new report suggests that some things still might not be ready in time for Christmas.
